None of the pics for this Sato shift mod are functional, if anyone who did this mod is still active on this forum, could you post a pic of this setup installed?

My set up worked perfect. I ordered the parts mentioned above and everything worked good. A little tight over the cover (1/8" clearance) and have had no problems since I installed it almost two years ago. Must have the longer shift rod from a CBR600 to make it work though. I will try to get a picture this afternoon.

My first experiences with GP shift were on friends track bikes, it took me a lot of concentration during heavy braking and blipping the throttle during the down shifts. I even tried it on my own track bike for a short time Never could get comfortable with it. I did it to one of my street CBR's to practice. On my way to work I round a corner and thinking I was shifting into 3rd at rather low rpms where there was still gobs of torque and I would often give her a bit of gas, I accidentally down shifted and the good whack I gave the throttle at the same time had me looking at the sky. Thankfully I did not panic and chop the throttle and blow fork seals, just set her down gently. Went back to street shift after that. Guys that grew up with GP must have had similar experiences when they tried to change.

I always appreciate your HD humor Billy. I have to say you are funny. Just to keep you up to date there are quite a few HD drag racers running a GP style reverse pattern shift. In fact it can be had in two configurations from Baker Transmission. One has neutral at the top and the other has neutral between 1st & 2nd. Just thought you would want to know.

Newb here. Just bought a 2010 one owner unit with 7000 miles after breaking through all the negativity about these great bikes. I'm happy. My Ducati's are GP shift and I CAN switch back and forth but don't want to. So went on this site to find out how to re-configure the VFR to GP. 1. I was amazed at the number of posts and amount of discussion that was not about how to convert to GP shifting. Post 50 before there was a straight answer. Is this normal for this forum? 2. Thanks to afmmer for answering the question. I bought the parts and made the conversion without issue.
