    Doesn't look like the diag. connector for a 6th gen. On my '07, such connecter is squarish, with 4 wires, and sits up near the fuse box, RH side. That may be the external air temp. sensor connector, which on my bike hangs down like that behind the front fairing. 'Google' it, you'll find out what it is ... or check fiche on Bikebandit .com ... :biggrin: ...

    I dont think its the ambient air temp sensor because that gauge is working ok. The voltage makes me think data port of some sort for sure though. I will keep looking, thanks.

    I had a major derp dumb ass moment today. Finished install my new scorpio i900 alarm, spent an hour detailing the bike, decide to lube the chain and then dump the bike on to my girlfriends vespa trying to get it on the center stand.

    I dont know if its something with my specific stand or what, but its near impossible to get this bike on the center stand. maybe my stand is bent or something, idk.

    Luckily no damage except for a broken mirror. Girlfriends vespa got some nasty crease in it though.

    I have terrible luck with frigan stands, had the same thing happen on my vstrom but with the side stand, it got stuck from dirt half open and i didnt realize and DUMP.

    Argh....

    So now looks like I need to find replacement mirrors asap. :/

    There is a technique when rolling bikes onto center stands. I practiced on my friends Ninjette 250 and GS500 when they were in my garage, and that got me in shape for my new 800. It's way heavier than those bikes, and I'm glad I kinda knew what I was doing because I probably would have dropped it as well.

    Put all your weight on the center stand and then rock the bike backwards while lifting the rear. Easier done in practice.

    You could go Emgo brand mirrors, but they fade overtime, and not as good quality as OEM. Go OEM.

    I have tons of practice on my gf's vespa gts250 and can do that very easily. something is different about this VFR, i dont know if its the weight or something else though.

    It is a very heavy bike, but there are "smaller" people capable of putting it on the center stand. Its about leverage and fulcrums.

    Assume you are standing on the left side of the bike when attempting.

    Try putting your sidestand down first to get the bike stabilized and so you can dismount.
    Place left hand on left handlebar.
    Place right hand either on the frame below the seat or possibly on the pillion handle. I use the handle unless the cowl was on, so then I'd use the frame.
    Place right foot on center stand, and lower the stand until it touches. Now you need to lean the bike off the side stand so that both "feet" of the centerstand touch. Don't try to put it on the center stand while on an angle.
    Once both feet of the c/s are on the ground:
    Push firmly with your leg to drive the centerstand down while lifting up on the back of the bike (right hand) and gently pulling with your left hand.

    The majority of this is done with your leg - not your arms. If you're trying to lift a 500# bike onto the CS with your arms, es no bueno.

    Totally agree with Pliskin, by gently getting bike upright while getting both "feet" on the ground is easiest. Also hard soled shoe/boots a must, at 220 I still need to stand hard on lever.

    Are you sure the bike has not been lowered? If the bike has been lowered in any way it will be harder or almost impossible to get on the center stand.

    all I can say buddy is practice makes perfect.... I found out that I really have to lift hard on my right rear handle while I pull the left handlebar back at the same time... practice with somebody standing on the other side.
    I'm 5'6 ...lowered my bike ..with a full tank I can still lift on the center stand. Oh ya...I'm 58 also

    just pry it up.... it appeared to be a pretty thin piece of alum, so it will likely get bent and not ever go back on as tight.

    I have the ram ball mount in my stem too
