Eventually I'm gonna get around to re-wiring my bike, starting with a R/R upgrade that I plan to wire directly to the battery, and will probably put in an accessory fuse panel as well...

Curious.... with regard to tapping into switched power for the fuse panel relay... what do you guys think about using the "sense wire" that was going to the stock r/r?

Using the sense wire to switch the relay to the fuse block is an interesting idea Dave.....

I was reading the thread where there was all this discussion about what to do with the leftover dangly bits, covering the connector with plastic or electrical tape or what have you. Seems to me we could chomp off the other half of the connector right where the wires come out of the old regulator. Now ya got what 3 wires to work with? Two to the voltmeter and one to the accessory relay and voila, no hot plugs banging around under the frame
