Hi to every one from Vancouver BC. Recently purchased an old VF1000f project so I'll probably be looking for some help. I like restoring japanese bikes from the 70's and 80's or what ever I can find a deal on! When I'm not doing that I work on airplanes... big airplanes.
Bikes I've restored: CB900F, CB750F, VFR750, V65 Magna, XJ900, GPZ900, GT380, YZF600. Cheers, Jack

Welcome to The World Jack. Based on your forum name, I don't really need to guess the size of planes you're talking about. I'm sure you'll find some good info and support here, just post up your question and I'm sure you'll get some answers.

Welcome Jack. You will find this forum a lot more fun than that other place....what's the name of it?

 

Squirrelman should be a good resource for you. He seems to know the older bikes quite well. Especially carbs. There are a few others here who are also a wealth of knowledge. Just ask. I'm not much help for your conquest.

 

As with all the rest, WELCOME TO THE WORLD. I do believe you done hath my old CB900F. Had one that looked identical to that silver and blue one. To this day, it is the one bike I truly regret selling. Hope you enjoy the project.

Hey Zoom-Zoom, I paid 50 bucks for that 900F, but it wasn't even worth that. It sat in a guys yard for 25 years. After the big bore kit, valves, machine shop cost, seat , decals, paint, tires etc. $$$$$ Started out black but I thought the silver/blue looked better, yes a cool bike!

 

Great to have someone else from BC. I just joined a couple of weeks ago. We bought my wife a 2002 VFR 800. Back in the day when I first got into to sport bikes, a buddy had a VF1000F. We used to spend quite a bit of time out at either Latimer or Dixon roads, he was almost always the quickest of the two wheelers that showed up. This was during the time there was no drag strip at Mission.

There are quite a few from BC but just a few who are active.

Camped in 100 Mile this past summer and have driven through a couple times since. Beautiful countryside.
