I think that is the "hazard light" symbol.

Well we know this site is full of men, as no one has said, "I read the manual and it says to..."

I haven't checked my hazard lights since I first got the bike, they worked back then but I may do a check this week just for grins.

The hazards started from 03 onwards in the UK when the headlights became fixed with the engine on. Maybe in the USA it came in later if at all. I'm wondering if a later year switchgear will work with an 02 model.

My -04 (with fixed headlights) has no hazard.
    But my -08 has.

The weird thing is that the hazard works with ignition on. Which is kinda stupid.
And on the designated hazard key position. One turn past ignition that is.
But in that position, the key not removable. And leave the bike with key in seems stupid.

I know on other brands that you turn it on with ignition on, and then turn key a position back and remove the key.
Then you can't turn the hazard of without first starting the ignition.
