So I finally have my 1990 on the road. I went on a shake down run befor the rain came in.
    Rides super nice.
At about 6500rpm or so, it bogs down and spits like it is not happy.
    the power feels very flat.
I swaped out the engine for a newer 93.
It started to get very wet and I had to call it a day.
And I made a fiberglass tail.

Sounds like the rubber diaphragms in the vacuum chamber are sticking or maybe cracked and leaking air--not able to raise up and pull the needle up in the main jet.
Or if it is not using a fuel pump (gravity feed) and gas in tank is low, then not getting enough fuel.

    That^^....or cleaner carbs.

Try giving it just a small additional touch of choke to richen the mix a little and try again at those revs. Any difference, me amigo ? Dija check the charging voltage at around 5K rpm ??

Tail needs flat-mount or recessed taillights, no like tits on a baboon in heat.

I have 15 mile ride each day. I'm just going to ride the shit out that thing till it snows!
then, I will have all the time I need to clean and check everything.
The carbs are much better now after some riding.

take those freaking purple pencils oot of those over flow tubes or I am gona get someone to punch yah in your bread basket! The large tube thats attached between the two rear carbs, disconnect from the pre-air filter and ditch it entirely! In the end, you will have a black t-fitting venting to the atmosphere. Connect your aibox to the back breather and tape up your air box holes or better yet, get an Ebay donor one.

If you get the carbs off this bike again, you can blow air into that black t-fitting and witness first hand the slides rising up and down. If not, you have some vacumm leak or worse.

Tits on a Baboom is funny...:pound:
