91' VFR fuel and heat gauge not working

SOOOO I got a non running bike about 2 weeks ago. I changed all the fuses (because the come in like 10 packs anyway and they're cheap)
And my bike runs. The tach works the spedo doesn't, but I know why.

Basically is there any common problems with the fuel/heat gauges?

Ok fired up today heat gauge works for some reason. do you know around what temp the radiator fan fires up? I had the heat gauge at around 75% and no fan. Is that normal?

I have it plugged in yes. I'm gonna fill her up a bit and see if that's the case. Also with your vfr if you put your ear down close to the clutch case does it make a faint faint faint clicking sound.
