Hey folks! I'm new to VFRs but not to Hondas or bikes in general. I never had electrical or any issues with my older bikes like my CBR f4. I picked up a 2000 vfr with 8000 miles and love the bike, no issues so far! I'm seeing all the talk on reg/reg etc so I ordered a Ricks MOSFET to prevent that failure. I haven't got the VFRness but wondered how critical that was on the year bike I have? I'd like to avoid screwing with a bunch of wiring at this point. BTW great forum! Just check all the wiring for burn mark on every oil change. Install a volt meter to monitor your voltage
Good to have the RR and the VFRness handy with the bike. Keep on riding and be happy :thumb:

I had a 5th & a 6th gen. Both needed the R/R's replaced. Luckily I had a friend who is a mad scientist when it comes to VFR's and electrical work. We beefed up the wiring while we had it down. My opinion? When you do the R/R, do the VFRness. Save yourself the headache later.

I'd go with the VFRness too. Its not that difficult, actually. And as any long time member knows on here, I'm usually a mechanical idiot. But, I was able to change out my R/R and add teh VFRness, as well as solder all the connections (that took some practice and time), but in the end, it was well worth it IMO.
