    Hi guys
Just got my 2001 VFR 800 3 months ago after a break from bikes for 30 yrs!!! ABSOLUTELY love it. Last bike was a Rd 400 Yamaha. Big difference!
Done just over 4000 miles in last 3 months including a 1800 mile trip round Southern Ireland.
Thinking of buying a Power Commander (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351163540233?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT).
Can anybody tell me what difference it makes to the bike and any tips on setting up etc etc.
    Thanks all

Don't know about the PC3 in the ad but I installed a PCV and loaded a map from Power Commander. Bike is much more smooth through out the rpm range especially in the low rpm area where it could be a little snatchy. Low rpm through mid high torque seems more linear and pulls harder. High rpms seem no different. Vetec transition is much better.

    Hi adeyren,

I also got back into biking this march after 10 years out.
I purchased a VFR800 Vtec A6 and although a good bike I found it a little jerky in low revs so looked aroud this forum for answers.
I finally bought a second hand PCIII off eBay for a bargain £210
I installed it it about 10 mins including the O2 sensor bypass plugs and uploaded the standard map to it.
I have to say it sorted the fueling out straight away...
The whole lower rev range was smoother and the Vtec engagement smoother.

I was so pleased I even went and got it dyno'd @ Jordan bikes in Leeds
and that made everything even better !!!
My fuel economy increased as well as gaining 7bhp and 3ftlbs torque.
For a bike of now 30,000 its figures are within 2bhp and 1ftlbs of a new bike.

Including the ''ACCEL PUMP'' feature which gives you an extra bit of fuel injection when you CRACK the throttle open it makes for a lively ride :)

I have to say that I am very pleased with it and I have since replace the pogostick rear shock with a custom weight matched Maxton shock
and sorted the front forks out with linear weight matched springs and re-valve.

    But that's beside the point.

Buy a PCIII you wont be disappointed :)

    Hope that helps
