Can anyone tell me their experience with either set of headers or do you have an opinion on the quality of one versus the other. Thanks for your time.

I run the Sandy Bike Spares headers on my '03. Weighing in at 9.75 lbs the SBS headers are very nearly 5 lbs lighter than the stock Cat-equipped headers.

Here's a pic of the SBS headers along with the S-bend pipe from my Two Bros exhaust system after I had them professionally ceramic coated in Satin Black finish.

And here's an old pic with those SBS headers mounted up on the bike.

Never used the Motad headers so I can't speak to their quality AWP34,but I can say that the quality, fit, and finish on the SBS headers is very good.

I used a set of 5th gens. that I got off of ebay...could not afford the motad's

The exhaust pipes are also larger dia. on the 5th gen. than on the 6th gen.

My mate bought a system from Sandy and wasn't pleased with the fit I subsequently found others who had the same experience. To repeat, you get what you pay for.

Do the Sandy pipes work fine with center stand? Do they have a welded on center stand stop?

    Yep.

The SBS headers do have a boss welded on for the center stand stop.

You'll need to swap over the rubber bumper from the stock headers.

You'll want to look for 5th Generation from 98 or 99. The 2000 and 2001 models, although 5th Gen, had the cat on them. I also don't remember exactly where I got this info from, but seem to recall the 98 & 99 headers were a couple of millimeters larger than the 00 and 01.

    LOL!

Well no it actually does say "JOKERMOBILE" on the chain guard VFR777.

But you're right, the heel guard on the Sato rearset does cover the letter J just a bit in my previous pic and makes it look like a letter T. :heh:

Does Sandy Spares have a US Distributor to buy from or do we have to have them shipped from the UK? I am on the fence on whether to do Sandy Spares or Motad. Motad is a bit more but has a very good reputation. Just want to get rid of the cat.
