ram air box mod

    IMG_20140902_103235.jpg IMG_20140902_103240.jpg IMG_20140902_103325.jpg IMG_20140902_103337.jpg while waiting for shoulder surgery again and in between rebuilding the VFR I decided to make a ram air box to see if I can get some more ponies out of the old girl. Here are a few pics I took of her. Went out for a test ride the best I could and boy does she pull I would like to compare against the standard VFR
    will post new photos and graphics of bike when finished - coming soon hopefully!!!

    Unless you have an intake directly in the airstream, I can't imagine you get any ram air effect.....?

    You need some ductwork to get the high pressure air from the front of the bike to there now.

    What ever "pull" you felt was a placebo effect from the work you put in. Looks nice but I seriously doubt there is any significant improvement in performance. You need a minimum of a 10% gain to feel any difference, and there is no way that little scoop tucked under a tank, behind a twin spar frame is gonna give you an extra 10 horses

    Very nice job! I dig the new master cylinder for clutch & break & the braided steel lines! And what a CLEAN bike! Performance gain? I can't see with out a direct air intake & going at triple digits speed...
