So, first let me say, thanks for such a great site. Without you, I wouldn’t have found my beautiful, "Honda Red," 2004 VFR.

Picked her up (immaculate) on Memorial Day weekend, title and insured on Wednesday.

We made our first work commute on Thursday. 175 miles round trip. What a blast! Despite the long distance, I’ve only got 12 miles of 4 lane during the drive. It’s a wonderful twisty Pennsylvania back-road commute. Had time to stop at McD’s for coffee and still arrived a half hour earlier than usual.

And on Saturday, my neighbor backed into the VFR and knocked it over doing significant damage to all of the body work. We’re waiting (impatiently) for the adjuster to call.

Anyway, thanks for the great site. I look foreword to participating!

Kill him. Run away with his wife. Get his kids into a great college makeing more money than him so they can buy you ten bikes. Then put Nair into his shampoo.

you know, we were walking to the bike when he hit it and i must have looked a little odd because as i started towards the guy, my wife made this beautiful flying tackle to grab the helmet from my hands before i got within range.

Sux that your wife beat ya to the punch, a helmet makes a great projectile, I know from experience. When I layed mine down, I made it thru the wreck without even a scratch on my helmet. That is until I threw it at the guy a busted the shield off it....

Pay Back: Get a can of sardines or herring in spring water. wait till he leaves his car door unlocked and the drop them in the heat/air vents in the dash... Makes a wonderful smell at about 80-90 degrees.

the sardine plan is the best one yet.

a friend makes his own catfish bait out of squirel and chicken livers and man does that stuff smell hideous!

Your friend must love catfish if he makes his own bait. How well does his bait actually work? Would he be considered a master or just a novice baiter?

(Is that a line I just crossed?)

I share your grief. My dad wrecked my perfect 2003 Honda Ace, which I bought brand new. I was on my 07VFR and saw the whole thing in my mirror.
I say wait until you get paid for the damage and the bike is fixed better than before it got hit, then, let the beatings begin.

If all the bodywork is damaged including the tank plus the typical stuff like bar end, mirror, engine cover, etc., you might be looking at a totaled bike believe it or not.

maybe, but i kind of doubt it. although, the insurance company does seem all to willing to accept the estimate from the local Honda shop. that may end up costing them a bit.

when the bike gets fixed maybe i'll back my tired old truck into his new jeep.

it shouldn't be too long. most of the damage looks to be cosmetic. (fingers crossed)

i'll put up a picture as soon as i get it home.
