Bling wheels on my 2007 RWB

New bearings, seals, PR4 tires, 8 spoke rear wheel, white power coating. Finally got it all together tonight. Gotta go scrub in the new tires in the morning after a little polish.

This is the way Honda should have done it.

Big time. But they never get really dirty cause you see the minor stuff and clean it off right away before it cakes on.

You had better paint those wheel weights white too there Pal.

Love you lift BTW. Wished I had room for one in my garage. My shop is full of woodworking tools so no place to store one of those lifts. Do my work by lying when needed on that cold concrete floor.

 

Well I have a bike on the lift at all times. That's how I justify the space and cost! I have 3 bikes a ton of tools like table saw, band saw, drill press, dust collector, jointer, router tables, benches , a very large belt/disc sander and a bunch of kayaking gear all competing for space. I need need a bigger garage!

 

You and me both. Right now all my garden stuff is in there too because I tore down my shed and am awaiting a permit to build a new one. Bastards at city hall are slow as hell.

 

Looks fantastic! I just did the same and got my wheels on the bike yesterday. I went for a short ride and with the new wheels and tires, it felt like a new bike! I probably went back into the garage three or four times just to look at her. I don't have the 8 spoke rear but I did go with white powder coating, PR4's, and OEM bearings and seals. I (actually OOTV) put on Bridgeport 83 degree valve stems too. I got them in chrome and they look great on the white and make checking air pressure so much easier.

Hmmm, what's next ...

I do like the look of that, but I can imagine they show grime well. I got quoted for powder coating for around $100. I might look into it for next season...

I am partial to white wheels.
Never owned a motorcycle with them, but they can't be any worse to keep clean than my anodized silver wheels . . .

 

Oh yes. Mine were basically clear coated natural aluminum stock and yes they show the dirt too. But not as much as these white ones do.

 

What do you mean they get dirty? This picture is after 60 miles might be in gravel.


If the do get dirty, just go to a service station and say filler up and clean the whites please...

looks good. that's my plan on next tire change. is that rattle can paint,powder coat ???

 

My opinion. If you are going to do it, do it proper. Powder-coat. Shop around. You guys can get it done much cheaper that we here in the north. I just don't think you can get anywhere near the quality and hard finish from a rattle can that you can with powder-coat. The powder-coating place should also media blast the wheels very clean before powdering. Can you get it as clean at home before you rattle can it?

If you just want to see how it is going to look, go out and get a can of white Plasti-dip and just mask off the tire and components and paint away. That stuff peals off very easily by hand once you have decided on whether you like it or not.

 

Rattle can - Nein. Powder coat - Ja!

The RWB VFR's have never really set me on fire, but that with the white wheels just looks good. A great finishing touch. Nice job.
