In my experience, VF Inteceptor body parts can be swapped around. I have a 1984 VF750F with a 1985 VF700F tank and and front cowl and a 1983 VF750F seat cowl. The stock paint/decal schemes can differ, though, if that matters to you. Have fun on eBay.

By the way, what do you need? I have a spare grey primer seat cowl I could part with. I also have miscellaneous decals for a 1984 red bike and a 1985 blue bike.

Ok by seat cowl are you refering to a solo seat cowl (the piece that goes over the passenger area of the seat) or the area that surrounds the back part of the seat/tailight and is held on place by the grab handles.?

Side note....Taz your VF is a 1st gen Interceptor just the little brother to the VF750F while the VF500F is the baby brother to both bikes and the VF1000F is the big brother to all of the smaller bikes.

Taz, when I looked at your pics of the bike I realized I misread your original post. I thought you were asking whether the body parts from a VF700F Interceptor swap with parts from a VF750F Interceptor. However, you have a VF700S Sabre. I don't think you'll be able to mount the Interceptor body parts easily on your Sabre.

Your Sabre looks really nice though. I suggest you enjoy it as it is. Or buy my '84 VF750F Interceptor!

Hi, Taz. I would sell you my seat cowl for $15 plus shipping. That's what I paid for it.

BUT, I have to correct myself - I don't think Interceptor body parts will fit on your Sabre. The Interceptor seat cowl and side panels snap into rubber grommets mounted on the subframe, side brackets and the fuel tank. The lower cowl bolts onto the frame. The front cowl is mounted on a hanger that bolts onto the steering tube and the frame. Your Sabre has a completely different frame - I fear that Interceptor-izing your Sabre is going to involve much picky welding of mounting points, fiddling around and hair-tearing. Then you'll need to figure out whether you can mount an Interceptor instrument panel into the front cowl, Interceptor clip-ons, etc.

With that said, PM me if you still want my seat cowl.
