Poor Bike...

It's sad to see the children that are obese, parents to blame, or not cognizant of the damage they are doing. I was always heavy as a child, and my parents made no attempt to monitor my weight. Has both physical and psychological consequences (teasing, left out of sports, etc)

 

I agree with just about everything you're saying. Ours is a society of excess with not enough accountability or taking of responsibility. Consider yourself fortunate to have the appropriate amount of willpower, dedication, and consistency to eat right and exercise and maintain a healthy weight. It would be great if more people could and would do the same. I admire those who can and do but I don't point out, mock or laugh at the ones who don't. (I'm not saying you do.) We all have issues. For some, it's weight. Everyone knows that to lose weight, you should eat healthy, eat less and move your body. The truth is, although simple to say and easy to understand, for some, it's not that simple.

Anyway, I didn't mean to turn this into whatever it is this has become. I read the post and some that followed, it didn't feel right and I said something. I don't apologize for my post and I'm not expecting apologies from anyone else. We're all grown-ups. I know it was all in fun with no malicious intent. I'm not trying to be a buzz kill. I've said my peace. Whoever wants to <cough, cough, Duccman, cough, cough> will go on taking jabs.

 

I think some of you guys are assuming to much. How do you know she's his girl friend, wife, concubine or what ever? He could have been at a family picnic and he got stuck taking his cousin Gilda back to aunt Betty's house.? May be his girl friends sister wanted a ride. Of coarse he couldn't say no. Or that's his bosses daughter he had to take for a ride. His job may count on it.

Still it's to much weight for the bike.
