Oh yea I did. First time riding the new steed since Nov 9th when I got it home. About 160 miles worth with new tires and all in 65 degree weather. Still had some snow on the ground from Saturday. I've been chopping at the bit for over a month to get at least one day. Yesterday was it and it was great.

Now if the guys from Canada, eh, would keep their weather were it belongs, up north, I could get more riding in.

I fired up the bikes on Sunday, and I've been able to ride every day so far this week.

As an aside, my float charger was mistaken about the state of my VFR battery, and lied to me all winter. Even though it said it was fully charged...it was not (the starter barely clicked). It kept the Kawasaki Super Sherpa battery healthy though.

I had to ride to London (45 miles) to replace a fuse!

On the way home on the M3 motorway (freeway to most of you) I could see a car about a mile in front going very well. Took an age to catch it..
He let me get behind him and then fucked off! I can confirm that an V10 R8 is quicker than my old nail :-(

He let me past in some traffic, and when it cleared he pushed me down the road. Thought I might have had a chance from 70mph - 100mph, err.. No.

Nice bloke- gave me a wave when he turned off.

The first time a car has ever 'done me' whilst on a bike, maybe cars are getting quicker...

    :)

    Very!
I had 11K rpm in top (-1 on the front - speedo reading about 165+ haha! Tomtom said about 146) and I could hardly see him. Lucky for him I wasn't in my diesel work van, he wouldn't have seen which way I went!

Supercars costing the price of a collection of 10 great bikes may be able to outstrip a VFR on the motorway, but console yourself with the fact that there's no way he'll be having as much fun as you through the twisty stuff!

And after all, would you really rather be stuck in a car (even a fast n' flashy one) than on your bike...?

On the subject, I rode today. And every day since buying my new (to me) VFR!

I ride year round no matter the weather. But this week has been awesome weather-wise! No stupid winter gear and winter gloves, just my summer gear. Even though I work 30+ miles from home, I'm thinking about taking an even longer route home today.

Its always a battle of whether I'll ride or golf on nice days......one day I'll figure out how to get the clubs on the bike and no longer have to decide.

Went for my normal ride today around Brione National Park to Orinda. Two great roads for a quick jaunt on the twisties and then to Peets Coffee.

While zipping along first road, I caught something out of the corner of my eye on the right shoulder (almost upon it). At first I thought it was a large dog, but it was a young Doe (not a fawn).

She decided to jump out and cross the road, Instinctively I backed off throttle and pushed hard on right bar, no time to brake, and braced for impact. Luckily I missed her by inches.

Then flying along second wider, faster road, another full size Doe came out from the left. This time enough time to brake and let her pass! Glad there was only one, usually run in groups.

I've ridden these roads many times, 2-3 a week for the last 8 months, this is the first time I encounter deer, two in the same day!

4 of us rode about 200 miles today. We met up in Polkville NC and headed west up over Cane Creek Mountain, over to Nanny Town rd, then Painters Gap. From there to Bill's Creek rd and Buffalo Shoals to the Lake Lure area. From there to Skyuka Mountain where we all enjoyed the breathtaking view over the Smokey Mtns. Dropped down Skyuka to Columbus NC for a pizza lunch at Brick House Pizza, then moving east on NC 108 and home. Stopped at Sandy Run Triumph/BSA for some chain lube for our upcoming trip to Colorado and Utah on Sep 2nd. Temps when we started were in the upper 60s, upper 70s in the mountains at midday and low 90s when we returned home to Gaffney SC. Another good ride by the Carolina Pro Riders aka CPRs.

Too cold and wet for any fun riding today in most of Colorado. It should improve in September. I'm sure you have some rides planned for your trip, but the Black Canyon of the Gunnison is not to be missed.

    Here's a link and a quote:

    http://www.motorcycleroads.com/75/144/Colorado/The-Black-Canyon-Run.html

    "Road Quality

This road is fantastically twisty, 32 miles of turns up and down mountainsides it is quite simply the best road in Colorado for riding a motorcycle."
