Hi all. Having taken delivery of my '05 model, my lady wife is dying to get on and ride (the bike). We are looking at the Nolan N102 flip front lids, as she is rather claustrophobic and needs to get used to the lid etc.

Does anyone use this type of lid? And has anyone used the Bluetooth comms system?

Especially interesting to me is if anyone knows whether a Nolan and a BMW System 5 can communicate via the Bluetooth link?

    TIA

My friend used to have a flip up style Nolan lid and loved it. He hadn't rode for quite a while and it deteriated and needs to be replaced. I know that he is looking for another Nolan flip up. I have a HJC for me and the Mrs. and unless I found a lighter helmet I wouldn't give it up for commuting. I love the ability of talking with people, getting a little extra air on your face and being able to put sun glasses on easily. Make sure you pay attention to if they can be ridden with the face piece flipped up. Some I found had limits as to how fast you could ride with it open if you could at all.

As far as the bluetooth goes, if the helmet has a bluetooth reciever in it you should be able to sync up with the comms systems since bluetooth is a standard. I don't know for sure, but as long as it's a bluetooth standard you shouldn't have any issues connecting it to a comms system, GPS, cell phone, etc.
