Hi. Just bought a blue Honda 2001 VFR 800 fi. It's my 4th bike and by far my favorite (although my brand new Yamaha WR125r was a great first bike and i'll always have a soft spot in my heart for it). Anyway, going from a reliable, but slightly boring Yamaha Fazer 600, i've really enjoyed riding the blue beast.

I love almost everything about it. I'm 6'4", so my legs get a little uncomfortable after an hour or so. So today i'm going to buy a set of 25mm drop footrests (think 40mm will interfere with ground clearance too much), and when i can afford it i'll buy an air hawk seat. I'm pretty sure those two things will make for a better ride.

It's blue with 42,000 miles, blue flame exhaust, nitron suspension, MRA touring screen, heated grips, heli cables and a few other treats. Great condition and all for £1600. Feels like a good deal.

Anyway, i love a good forum so i'll be here for a while. So hello.

But in all seriousness, welcome to the forum! I too am a big fella at 6'4" although I'm more torso than leg, so the pegs aren't too bad. I've been thinking about lower pegs as well, so let us know how it goes.

Well one out of two ain't bad, this is a good forum, but it's a GREAT bike! Welcome to The World! Sit back and relax or jump in with both feet, you're choice, but pics are really where you'll get more out of us.

    Cheers

    Croeseo !!

If your 600 Fazer was boring you shoulda beaten it more. I had an 03 model, one of the last before the FZ6 took its place and I loved it, went all through France, Belgium and Holland a couple of times touring and made sure my footpegs rubbed the floor back at home as often as I could.
Sold that and bought my 07 VFR. Lovin it. I am a compact and bijou 5' 7" so find the seating position great if not a wee bit tall (can't get 2 feet flat on the floor) but hey it's another excusenot tostop.
Enjoy your ride and be safe

It was just a bit dull to look at. I know what you're saying but it was just too normal for me. But your right, maybe I'm being a bit hard on it. Once you broke that power band it was fun.

Welcome Bobbie. But you only get half marks for posting a link to pix. YOu need to post the picture here for full credit. Mind you, the link did lead to other pix. Ahhh. OK. Full marks. You will enjoy the ride and this forum give them both a chance. A wealth of knowledge here. Just not from me. Take my advise, and you will learn how to fix your errors soon enough after listening to someone in the know.

Welcome to the WORLD from one of (ok the second) Canadians from across the pond (as it were).

Nice looking machine you have there and I like many others here am sure you will grow to love the new more and more with every passing mile. Of course you DO realize that you may have now spoiled yourself to the point that no other kind of motorcycle will be able to measure up to or surpass the current one, RIGHT????? LOL

Have fun, ride safe, and keep her shiny side up. :)

Cheers. I still don't know if i prefer red or blue. The good thing about the bike being blue, was that i didn't have to buy a another helmet. The shame of riding a red bike with a blue helmet would have been too much to bare!
