I am about to buy a 2000 model vfr 800 with stock exhaust.
I was looking at after market pipes and found the stash from two bros for the 2002+ models.
how difficult would it be to mount the stash exhaust on a 2000 model?
    or can it be done?

2002 was the first year of the 6th gen, completely different frames and plastics. I suppose anything can be done but it will be FAR from just a bolt on....

Well, the 2000 is a 5th gen, so it has a single exhaust mounted on the right side of the bike. The subframe is a cage design. On the 6th gen, the exhaust is an undertail dual exhaust and the subframe is a central spine design. The only way you would be able to get that exhaust to work on your bike would be to swap the rear subframe. It's been done, but it is a buttload of work.

You would not only have to change the tail, but you would have to make a new wiring harness to deal with the fact that your R/R would have to be moved to the front of the bike. There is no room for it in the back since it would be taken up by the exhaust. Though, you might be able to use the Stach can location for the R/R I suppose. But that would defeat the purpose of having two cans back there.

Long story short, don't do it.

I have a 5th gen VFR with aftermarket undertail dual exhaust. Short story, everything back of the gas tank gets modified or replaced. It can be done, but it is a BIG job.
