I bet some of those pesos are spent on bicyclefarkles. ;)

Precisely - and when I'm trying to go to work or home, its all about me, and fuck you, you cyclists. :)

That's some serious miles you put on a bike. Ever think of building your own, murging a Van Dessel and a Lynskey or something like that?

I'd like to. But what all can you really do to a bicycle? Besides that, the engine gets better with every mile I put on it. And the ladies already admire my exhaust.

I'll have to keep that in mind. But what I'm really after is merging some movie star abs onto my squishy belly.

Every hobby/sport have their farkles, take photography, high end audio, every group is always looking for that little extra they think will give them performance, motorcycles and bicycles too.

I agree but nobody is going to convince me that 8 tracks are not aboot to make a comeback.

If I might offer some advice on what can be done to bicycles, stay away from REI.

What happened to true "hi-fi" ? 8 tracks do not cook, but if you happen to wonder around the local swap shop, there are some weirdos hawking 8 tracks. Some people.

Wow, how did we get from motorcycles to 8-tracks?

I look at my bicycle like my VFR; if I wanted a faster bike, I should have bought one in the first place. The rest of the farkles are just more crap to slow it down.

And yes, I blow stop signs and do the stop and go through the occasional stop light. Cycling is all about momentum. But I never take the right of way from another motorist who rightfully had it first.

We have bicyclists all over Chicago but you've got to watch some of the "Hoods" you ride in. You don't want to be used for target practice! Gives ATGATT a whole new meaning. Oh, that's right these f...ers usually can only hit women and little kids and never what they are aiming at!

Eureka! I have found the ultimate bicyclefarkle. The biggest and heaviest cable and lock possible.

Chicago had a record amount of deaths over the Fourth of July did'nt they? So much for gun control, bad guys always get them, and yeh, they could'nt shoot their way oot of a wet paper bag.

Sorry about the late reply! I don't know if it's a record but it sure seems like it is. Every night and every weekend it seems like more and more on the news! Police chief says crime is down but the news makes it look like it is up! When it gets above 80 degrees it seems like the natives get restless!

Don't read this wrong, Chicago for the most part is a very safe place. It's just certain places you don't go after dark on a hot muggy night when there's nothing to do!

temperature brings oot the :rambo: in people, that and full moons. So, this thread is gona transistion from "tour-de-france" to gun control? :chaingun:

I grew up in NJ with lousy gun laws, had a shot gun that I rarely fired. Moved to South FL 17 years ago and have a few Glocks and .380 thats a carry gun. I don't carry it all the time though, so there goes the whole theory of "carrying" (supposedly, if you "carry" you "carry" all the time.) :loco: some of these people are crazy mind you.

People get gunned down here all the time, but it was the same in Newark too.

I work in 2 shops, a motorcycle shop and a bicycle shop. I love the reverse entitlement cyclists get, even from some of the comments here i see it. I myself hate cyclists that don't follow street laws, everyone I ride with from the shop follows all the rules. I see it most near downtown and campus where the red light rule breakers are. I understand were not doing 45 mph, but Jesus is everyone in THAT big of a rush to get wherever you're going? Get over yourself. It's the yelling, throwing stuff at us, "rolling coal", slamming on the brakes infront of us that is uncalled for. And the spandex jokes... like we've never heard those jokes before.
