I'm interested in the Lightech sliders primarily because of the no cut feature and the price. However, when I went onto the Lightech website it only shows them fitting 02 - 06 model VFRs and mine is an 08. Spoke with a tech rep and he thought it was because they stopped producing that particular model back in 06, and the catalog was not updated. The new 14 catalog no longer shows them being available. Has anyone out there installed these on an 08? Is there a difference between the mounting locations on an 06 vs. an 08?

Someone with a more knowledge on the 6th Gens should be along soon enough, but my understanding is there was no difference from 02-09 (aside from Vtec engagement). I'd be about 99% sure the ones for the 06 will fit your 08.

No cut sliders are garbage and will break at just about any speed, cut two holes in fairing is all you need with the R+G kit-I have three drops with zero damage.

Totally concure on the R&G Kit...one drop in my drive with NO damage at all. Friend dropped his and busted the mirror and left marks on the side fairing.

Well after viewing the link that Scubalong sent showing the riders view of the sliders, and imagining my feet coming off the pegs and my legs moving forward at a rapid rate of speed during a shunt, the unfortunate end result would saddle me with a new nickname as I'd probably be referred to as "Stubby" for the rest of my life. Me thinks the R&Gs may be the way to go. Cheers.

My guess is the R+G sliders will work up to 25mph, I am talking from experience as my 600 fell down all the time with sliders. no-cut sliders might actually be worse than no sliders. When you fall always raise your feet up and if your going to fall down for sure fall on your back and protect your head and try and steer to a good spot to fall. Not falling right can kill you. Some how a experienced women Harley rider died when she hit a pothole with no damper, she had a helmet- but a Harley half face-which means no head- pavement hit her head hard-dead rider. The pothole was 2 feet wide at least 5inch deep- a former cop so she was a great rider except it was a new bike. This happened about 2 weeks ago. I hit some pot holes just like it but slammed on my brakes just in time and had a scotts damper too with the emergency circuit built into the damper-the only one I know that has this option!:juggle::director::smash:
