The enjoyment has gone out of riding! Have I been riding too long?

I think you ought to ride to new places, explore new roads, get rained on, go through cross winds, visit friends in far away places, change elevations a few times a day and go from 100+F temperatures down to 35F or so in less than two hours. Change, revitalize.

I think that SOW has the hots for me and has somehow convinced himself I am a shemale. He posted that the OP since he used to be excited about putting on his leathers that he buy some of those assless chaps.

I saw it just before he deleted it. The dude is sick as in mentally ill.. I guess the polite term would be gender challenged.

Endless thanks for your support. My advice would be for the guy to rent a Harley. Ride it for a couple of hours, take it back and find a whole new dimension of worthiness for his bikes. I think that is better than any of that perverted stuff you are into. Some of those STDs I think may be affecting your mind. You should have a physical and a blood test array ASAP.

Take a season off. Seriously, just do it. After that season is gone you'll be saying "WTF was I thinking?"

I get mildly bored with the same routes I routinely ride weekend after weekend. Then I get busy with life, can't ride for 2-4 weeks during season. Once I get back on the bike, pushing through turns, it feels like Gal Gadot is handcuffed to my bed in her birthday suit.

Perhaps running radar and a HARD system is in order. That's what I do. I don't worry about 5.0

Go touring in a different country. Rent a big GS with enduro luggage equipment in Cape Town (South Africa) and enjoy exploring the every changing scenery there. Or visit Japan, rent a Superbike and enjoy riding where there's no danger of getting stopped by Police. Even if you did you'd always get away with just a warning on an Intl. licence. Or go explore Europe (South of France & Italy (South) are amazingly beautiful too. The alps are spectacular as well. Riding on straight roads with too much police presence is boring. If you must ride there, go off-roading & enjoy some adventure.

I think you should Join the Hole in the Wall Gang run by Billy the Kid aka Bad Billy the Troll, if nothing else , you will at least trash a few bikes trying to go to the Hide out between the rocks and dead skunks that smell real bad that should cure you of your aliment.:chaingun::chaingun::strong::baby:

I lived in Toronto for 12 1/2 years, bought my '83 VF750 there and had it shipped to CA when I was a project manager for UCLA at the Olympics. I know what you mean about ramps, learned to ride real quick on Molholland Dr & the Crest. Like B.B. King says; the Thrill is Gone. Lot of good advice here, I am sure you will find a way to get your interest back.

Jim, most riders, after riding for many years, will sometimes have the same feelings you mentioned. I've been riding much longer than you and my solution
was to join the Classic Japanese Motorcycle Club (CJMC) on the west coast. If I were on the east coast I would have joined the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club.
We have rides, restoration clinics, BBQs, shows (including displays at the annual International Motorcycle Show in San Mateo, CA.
Many of our members are retired engineers from the Silicon Valley area.
We just had a great event (Aug. 26/27, 2014) with our annual Show and Swap meet at the Auburn Fairgrounds, north of Sacramento.
The featured bike in this Auburn event was (drum roll) Honda V4 Interceptors!
Take a look at some of our events here on YouTube . . .

    http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=CJMC+motorcycle+show

The VJMC has similar events. So, bottom line, check out these types of clubs and enjoy the camaraderie.
I'm sure it will put back some of your lost spark to ride.

Well since you are in Ontario, its not surprising with the amount of aggressive tools on the road. As previously mentioned, try some offroad. There are two great schools where you pay some cash, get geared up and thrash the hell out of their Yamaha's for a day. Be prepared to buy a new offroad bike after though. I did it after 25 years of street riding a few years ago. In the woods you can ride like the wind, even going slow. Check it out, its crazy fun, and you will meet lots of great people.
SOW, leave Billy alone. Its not a fair fight... for you...(can't watch)

I'm a bit with Jim, I commuted to work and now that I am retired I wouldn't bother riding if it wasn't for club mates dragging me out on rides

Wow...guess maybe its terminal....lost that lovin feeling.
Maybe you should just sell all your bikes to people that love to ride....no sence in owning something if you dont enjoy it anymore.
I will never get tired or bored with riding ever....but thats just me.
Been on bikes since 8 and now almost 59 (shit)......I'll ride untill I die. JMHO. What ever you do Jim ..its
    ultimately your decision.

Duccy you could be right, I sold 3 of my Enfields earlier this year and I still have 5 bikes here but the motivation to ride them is getting less, weather here at the moment is ugly, maybe when it warms up a bit I'll get out a bit more. Heading 68 years, over the years both hips broken, ankle, and leg broken in 8 places all take their toll, just getting on and a bike these days is pretty hard. At least I only have 2 with kick start

By selling off those Enfields, You may have saved thousands of Ozpesos in oil alone. ;) Got a pic of the twins? Good looking bikes..

I bet SOW would like me better if I got some frame sliders or bought one of his mangy cats.

Billy the only Enfield I have left is a 1965 750 Interceptor that I ride as often as I can, it is a great old machine and it does give me pleasure and there is very few left in the world these days

Had to get in on this thread because I saw, SOW was involved, and you know how that one goes, its like taking a mental enema or something, (cleansing) not to be confused with colonics.

Someone once told me, no matter how hot a chick is, someone is tired of fuc*ing her. Well, I can honestly tell you after riding one of my bikes for 20 years, I am not tired of riding it/her. I love riding on the street, even the same route is a challenge because traffic and obsticles are different.

Like the idea of riding a heavy so-called American pos cruiser bike, to make you appreciate what you got.
