    Hello all,

I am a very happy to acquired a 2007 Honda VFR800 with 700 MILES on it. This is my 5th motorcycle and I just love my VFR!!! I had all Hondas, including CBR 600 F2, CBR 600 F4i, CBR 900RR and CBR 954RR. So far, as I rode for about a week, the VFR is as good as my former 900 and 954 but better comfort and I think much better built.

I am still getting used to the power, as I came from a CBR954RR which has a LOT.

In Conclusion, I am very happy with my VFR and its the best bike I have own so far.

I am just not happy with the original exhaust, it is not loud at all, but to get an aftermarket plus PC and tuning that is about $1500.

I am actually thinking about gutting it but I cannot find any shop to do it for me (maybe any suggestions?)

If you live near by, lets RIDE!

Have a good day all and ride SAFE!

    I will post pics soon

You ain't gots one lessen you can prove it with pikchures. Post them up. I assure you, I am the first of a few if not many who will harass you until you do.

That aside, welcome to the forum. A pretty good bunch of people here. A couple who you may raise an eyebrow at but hey, we are international. I hear Poutin slides by from time to time when he is not shaking it with his old friends in the KGB.

Welcome! As for gutting your exhaust any good welder should be able to do the job. Many threads here about how to gut your pipes. As for aftermarket pipes choices are getting limited. Seems like everytime you turn around another pipe maker is going out of business. Or discountinued a pipe for the VFR. As for a PC, you can get away without it. A PC will help with low speed fueling & smooth out V-Tech transition. For a slip-on not necessarily required. You can always get the pipe & add a PC as you budget allows. I' ve been running Leo's on my 07 since new, never an issue.

Thanks for your comment Arnzinator, coming from bikes that had aftermarket full exhaust systems, I feel like the VFR is too quiet with the original exhaust. So I figured a cheaper way to make it a little more sound is to gutted it. You right about the aftermarket exhausts, I called a few manufactures, such as Micron and Staintunes and they don't sell them for VFR800 anymore.
    Thanks for your help

Scorpions & Two Bro's are still available I think. Either is not cheap. Keep your eyes on CL & ebay. Hindle has a listing for a mid pipe that you would use with universal mufflers. Also not cheap.

Ridervfr quincy is a decent place. I am planning to move down south next year. That's how much I like riding I can't deal with the winter without riding

I think I will bring my bike to a shop that do customized exhausts and see what they have to offer. Worst case scenario is to blow up my credit card and just get a nice after market exhaust and everything else.

As long as I am happy with the final result I am fine =)

I grew up in NJ and used to go all winter if the roads were black top I was oot there. Used to run a Widder Lectric vest with their gloves and a one piece Hein Gericke cold weather suit, along with over sized boots, three pairs of socks, and a balaclava. You know, I still wear protective chit down here in 100 degree weather, but thinking back on all that misery that was "new jersey" I don't miss it and would not put my self or my bikes through that chit. :pound: I did'nt even have a dedicated winter bike back then! You really need to consider having a bike for the winter if your gona be hard core.

It was an adventure though and the roads were second to none, not like doing "super-slab" all the time. Cheers, by the time your weather goes to chit, we are gona be into our riding season.
