Can't you control it using the idle speed adjustment knob ??

clogged mixture screw port and the idle speed screw was turned in CW to compensate and keep the bike running.

Did you just recently get your bike?

I'd start with the throttle cables. Make sure they are not sticking and have a bit of freeplay between the main and return cables. It they are okay, make sure the carb linkages are not sticking. All that complicated linkage needs to move freely.

Have you ever pulled the carbs and gone through them thoroughly?

If the bike runs good and the carbs don't seem to need cleaning, leave them on and adjust what you can. Reset the pilot screws (mixture screws) to 2 1/2 turns out and sync the carbs then see how she runs. Or have a shop do this. Syncing the carbs on these bikes are really important, but it's tricky to do without the right tools.

Yea I'm a noob u cud say I know tht recently if I tried I noticed wit enough pressure u can twist the the whole throttle around on the handle.. But thanks. Ill check cables I'm not really sure bout mixture screw for I lack this knowledge. I will have to do my research. But now I have somewhere to start :). Bike has always run great for me had a couple months now. Everytime something goes wrong it scares shit outta me but always turns out to be little things. Like first the battery terminals broke. Then recently my buddy ride it n I had to come figure out why it wouldn't crank. It had overheated n jus needed coolant. So over all I am very satisfied w this bike run great. I e put like 2k miles on it since I bought. How often should I change the oil?

If it's loosing water, but you don't see any obvious leaks, check the radiator cap. Both rubber seals need to be in good condition. If it needs replacement, take the old cap to Autozone or similar place and match it up. I paid $6 for mine. Also check the overflow tube from radiator to water tank. It can't have any vacuum leaks. Cheap to replace it with new line.

Are the grips slipping? You need to fix that quick. A grip could slip off and you'd loose control and crash. You might replace them as they are pretty cheap. Get a set of 7/8" grips. Clean the bar on the left side and the throttle tube on the right side. The inside of the old grips need to be clean too. I squirt some carb cleaner in them and clean them then let air dry. There are products like Grip Ace, etc... that is in a little tube. You smear a little on the bars and in the grips and quickly slide them on. They will set up in like 10 minutes and they will be stuck on real nice.

When you twist the throttle with the engine off there should be a tiny amount of twist forward and backward. If you look at the carbs where the cables connect you'll see the main cable and return cable tense and release. If both cables are tight, then you need to adjust them to remove the tension. The adjuster by the grip is easiest to get to.

Oil changes are like a car, about every 5k miles. I pay a little extra and buy the Honda filter from the dealer. You also want to use motorcycle oil so as not to mess up the clutches. Usually the oil will say it's safe for motorcycle clutch discs.

There are times when you should change the oil before 5k miles and that's if the floats in your carbs should ever stick and fuel leaks down into the cylinder, past the rings and into the oil. Enough gas can thin out the oil and do engine damage.

I've seen gravity fed carbs stick and the whole gas tank drain into the engine. That's why they say to check the oil level before every ride. If you suddenly have a higher oil level than last time you checked, then sniff it for gas. If you suspect gas in the oil, drain it and add fresh oil.

I think our bikes with the electric fuel pump prevents any chance of that happening to us. Plus I know my carb floats don't stick, so I check my oil level every other time I ride. Or every 3rd time I ride. I get lazy. :)
