    Hey guys,
I got a set of CF Leo Vince slip ons (never mounted) for free from a friend who had a 2007 Interceptor. I got the old system off and the Leo Vince system OD is almost ".25 too small to fit over the male end of the catalytic converter. So it's not a simple swap :(

I guess I'll see if a local exhaust shop can flare the pipe about .25-.30"

    - Why would the pipes be different from 06-07? I'd be surprised if Honda would do that.

    - I'm having no luck finding anything official from Leo Vince online so I can reference the part numbers to see if there's a diff between 06/07.

    Any thoughts?

    Monumental bummer....

    Thanks.

I would imagine it's a leo vince issue more than a honda issue.

I think harbor freight has a exhaust flaring tool that might work, probably way cheaper than an exhaust shop. but it's kinda crap quality so probably a one time use. heat the tubing and try to flare it. I had no issues fitting my leos

    Reek,
Thanks. Funny thing is I found the exact same thing when I was googling about...$17

The 06/07 use the same mufflers and exhaust system so it is likely a Leo issue like you stated.

In any case, a free system is a free system and I'll make it work.

    Cheers

Sometimes there is a copper washer or wrap thatmakes up that difference. I would look into those. They should be very cheap. I have not taken the pipes off my 08 yet but i know the 5th gen had one. Also most every other bike i have worked on has that washer or copper collar thing at the pipe joint. Maybe you are missing them or if it doesnt have it there maybe you could make a 5th gen one work to take up that space. Good luck

No worries, thanks for chiming in.

Anyone know where I can find the (reportedly worthless) instructions? I've been googling like crazy...I wonder if I'm missing anything?

Otherwise headed to the local muffler shop in the am to see if they can just open it up a tad.

Don't shoot the messenger, remember you asked for these. Worthless doesn't even begin to describe....

I love my Leo's but your probably better off w/o the "instructions".

Suggestion: A little Loc-tite on the bolts for carbon fibre shield. One of mine vibrated loose & went MIA.

    Arnzinator,
That's perfect, thanks. I needed the diagram and that was very helpful.

    Cheers!

    Sorted.

It helps when you take the stock gasket off the catalytic converter...What a knucklehead :grumpy:

Pipes are mounted up and thanks again for all the help. I'm going to go trash myself with pushups for overlooking that....

Ha! love those garage knuckle head moments! always good for a laugh after you're done picking up all the tools you've thrown at the wall in frustration....

glad you got it sorted. I didn't even think of the connector gasket since I changed headers at the same time to delete the cats. Now go ride.
