I recently changed the head gaskets on my 85 700, everywhere I look to find the valve gap I see .006. I have everything together, but when I adjust the front cylinder exhaust valves The motor will not rotate all the way around.
Is this valve gap right? and why would I only have this issue with one cylinder and not the other?
ready to take the motor to the shop but they cant fit me in till winter

Do you have roughly an equal amount of threads on the adjustment screws? Bent valve is what comes to mind as described if you are sure the timing is correct.

Seems like cam timing vs. crank position is incorrect. Or maybe an exhaust cam was put in intake position ? Use NO FORCE turning crank or you WILL bend a valve ! The gap you set has almost nothing to do with your situation as normal valve-to-piston clearance is enough that it won't account for what you have goin on, so it's a cam timing issue, not a faulty clearance setting.

yea i have been carefully turning it by hand and when it stops so do i but the marks on the cam gears seam to be where they are supose to be. I think i will have to look around for another shop that can get it in sooner. my friends loaner ninja isnt doing the trick lol
