WTF! Has this ever happened to you?

In all my years of riding I have never had a passenger fall of my bike, let alone what happened here in this story. If it wasn't so tragic, it could actually be humorous

Wow....that's very sad. You would think that you could tell you were missing your passenger! And if you just smacked the guard rail wouldn't you check to see how she was doing? Maybe need to pull over and do an under ware check:blue:

The rider is a fucking idiot. How do you not stop to see if everything is OK after hitting a guard rail? Even if you just clipped it?

I'm thinking he was drunk. There is just no way you lose the weight of an entire person and not notice it. Plus, if I were to hit anything I would be stopping immediately to check the bike for damage.

 

This would be my first guess, or just extremely embarrassed to stop in front of everyone. Either way you would think that even a "Honey? Are you OK?" would be his first response. The first thing I would feel after hitting the guard rail with my wife as passenger, is a huge whack across my helmet, if I didn't feel that, I know she wasn't there anymore. Considering there is a "watering hole" up on Ortega known to be a "biker" hangout, I would imagine that the CHP would have questioned and/or given him a sobriety test before letting him go.

 

what was his reaction when they told him she was gone? he rush back to find her? just shrug his shoulders and leave? odd article. how do you hit a guard rail and not mash your leg? scuba haven't you hit multiple guard rails? whats it like?

 

Why he didn't make sure everything was okay is beyond me. I've had my son and daughter ride with me many times, quite often they just relax, lean back in the trunk and enjoy the ride. I HAVE to reach back and touch their legs because they make me feel there is no one back there.

 

I had a guy fall off once. He wanted to buy my 1983 CBX550 but I wouldn't let him ride it because he was a squid. So I took him for a ride to show him how if handled and performed. We went out about five miles and then I stopped to turn around and head back to town. He was impressed and asked me how quick it would accellerate. I said, hang on and I'll give her a short blast. So I pulled back on the highway and gave her the beans. All I saw was his feet fly past my head as he tumbled off the back and rolled down the road. I pulled over a she got to his feet and ran over to remount. I said,"you stupid shit, you ask me to give er and then don't hold on??" He was embarrassed but at the same time he was impressed. He was easily impressed. Thankfully the only damage was his ego.

I was wondering when this was going to come out...As I said, if it wasn't such a tragic ending this thread could be very humorous, even more so if he was on an HD, but the article said it was a 97 Honda. Not sure what that's about

 

I have considered Trying to eject a passenger once or twice, but smacking the guardrail seems like the hard way to do that. :vtr2:

I hate stories like this that ultimately make everyone of us on 2 wheels look like morons based on one dumb rider.

I unintentionally popped the front end up with my gf on the back, I was gunning it past some jackass who had parked crooked on a two way 55mph road just to check or deliver mail. She slid back and the grab bar saved her ass XD
