    Hi All,

I am looking to give my 08 VFR 800 a look like the ohlins setup but with out the Ohlins price tag. I have scoured the net looking for the RC51 forks and am coming up short. I have spoken to J Doughtery regarding forks. He stated I could do the CBR600F4 forks. I want a brighter looking gold fork. If any one has any suggestions that are economical please drop me a line, on where I can get a quality fork that has that gold look that Pops, combined with performance. Thanks for your time.

Powder coating or painting your current fork lowers is probably the cheapest option. Some have done an R1 fork swap, other forks can be swapped to. Heres a link to a thread on vfrdiscussion, great pics.

Doing any fork swap ins't gonna be cheap even buy used parts. An older set of forks will probably need to be rebuilt. If the forks are from a lighter bike they'll need to be re-sprung. Different wheel, brakes, clamps the list goes on.

2000 R1 forks, calipers, and RC51 SP1 triples. Works for me, and they're gold, too.

Not sure about the forks but I have a 954 lower triple that was intended for a front end swap with R1 forks. I had the forks and calipers too but sold them off on e-bay. I'll give you a deal on the triple if you want to do it.

OK, garage straightened and one set of nice, straight RC51 SP1 gold forks, with gold RC51 calipers and Lower triple with steering stem located. Also have a set of 954 clip-ons and 2 front RC51 SP2 (lighter) front wheels available. They look nice with the later model VFR 5 spoke wheels. This is the easiest swap as all you need to do is place 2 lower dust seals on the move the steering stem up into the VFR steering head to work. I MAY have a front axle somewhere, still looking. I don't remember if I have a top triple clamp or not, but they're plentiful, or use the 954 top clamp for more room for clip-ons.

Contact me ASAP. They are posted for sale in the classified as well. I can post pics this Friday, on the road now. Not damaged or leaking and not currently mounted.

Also available, if you're interested, one set of Yamaha R1 black radial mount front calipers with TRIPLE pucks, master cylinder and hoses, complete. Make me a deal and they're yours.

    Larry in Dallas for pickup.

So, everyone wants these, but no one wants to actually buy them.

OK, no action here, they'll go elsewhere.

    I must have been mistaken.
