I dropped my bike a few months ago on the left side. I have Motivation Frame Sliders installed on the bike. After the drop I am unable to tighten the bolt down on the frame slider. I am able to remove it and noticed a slight bend in the bolt. Do I need to replace the bolt ? After reading the motovation website there is apparently a nut that the bolt screws into. That may have gotten loose when I dumped the bike. I will investigate further. If any one has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks for your time.

Always a good idea to replace any fastener thats damaged IMO. Replacement pucks with hardware should be available from Motovation. If you don't want to replace the pucks or feel the one on the left side is reusable you can just replace the bolt/ nut. You should be able to find replacements at your local hardware store or home improvement center. You can probably get better grade (stronger) bolts for a couple of bucks ea.

Keep in mind reusing a frame slider thats been crashed once could have some bad consequences if crashed again. The damaged bolt could sheer off or the puck could just shatter on impact before offering any real protection.

Any suggestions on how much it will be to rethread the hole the frame slider bolt attaches to. I did a test today with the good bolt from the right side and she just spun. Do I need to take this to a bike shop or are there any other options ? Thanks for your time.

I think a pic of what your threading that bolt into might be required. Is it a part on the bike? Is it a bracket that's part of the slider kit?

Either way you might be able to get around that situation. If there is room on the backside of where the bolt threads into, a longer bolt w/ a nut on the end might work.

Again pics could help. :) In the mean time Youtube "how to use a tap & die set" or "fixing stripped threads" so you know what you might be getting yourself into.
