Just the usual first post stuff. Been riding 20 years or so. I had a 1996 VFR for quite a few years, trackdays, riding schools blah blah. Last bike was a Hayabusa for 5 years or so. Then took a couple of years off. The wife got rear ended in the mini van and it was written off. I took the money from that and picked up a near mint 03, with the cash from the van. Shizat I am in. Oh well. Whats she gunna do? With hold certain activities? That would be different from what??

Bike has most of the upgrades I would care to make already done. Zero gravity screen, heli bars, Leo Vince pipes, Sargent seat, PC III, I'm sure there is more but I forget. I spent quite a few years over on that other VFR forum. I found 2 posts I had previously made here when I had the 96. Wow didn't think I had join the forum and been lurking for that long. Newer bike.....newer forum I figured. A little more razzing seems acceptable here too, thumbs up!

Welcome back! Nice bike. At least when she's withholding other activities, now you have a nice bike to ride. :tongue-new:

It had 28,000 km on it when I bought. I noticed in your signature you have a gear indicator installed. I had one on my Busa a liked it. What model do have? Where on the dash did you put it?

Yes, welcome back. As a current Busa & 6th Gen owner I'm curious. How would you compare it to the VFR?

I hate to disagree with 'Long but RWB is the fastest color. :)

I may have to look into that after the aftermath of purchase cools down with management.

As far as Busa compared to VFR, weight is similar, Busa another 60 hp and 50 ftlbs of torque. I miss the fully adjustable suspension. After suspension was set up on the Busa dragging peg feelers was no prob. Just don't know If I will get too the confidence I had with the Busa with the VFR without swapping shock and some fork work. I had Heli bars on mine as well. Was a great bike. I was actually looking to get a 2nd gen but insurance was 3 times what the VFR was going to be. Or I would prob have another Busa instead of a VFR. But now that I have the VFR I love it. Don't have factory luggage yet but nice I know I can get it. And I love the underseat exhaust. Should have my fender eliminator painted up this weekend, then I can get rid of that fugly stock fender

Look up Daugherty Motorsports when it comes to VFR suspension upgrades. Many, many threads speak highly of the quality his suspension work with VFR's.

I thought I recognized that name! How are ya Dennis?

+1 for Jamie's work on the rear shock. He built up a custom one for my 86. Works perfectly.

Yeah, have one for the street, and one that I'm building for endurance racing. I didn't want to get back into the "modern" class, but I've always wanted one of these. Hopefully it'll be on the track @ Mosport in August for a trackday to start. Not racing this year. Should never have sold my '95...oh well. There are plenty of that gen out there, but you've got a nice one now!

The only thing I really want to do to it is put a fender elim on. Bracket should be done Monday. "Government" job at my wife's work. Then I'll have to see if I can squeeze it between the Leo pipes. May have to push them out a little.
