Hello everyone, I am L.C. and I am new to this motorcycle thing, but let me tell you, I LOVE IT!! I receant purchased the 2007 anniversary edition VFR and aside from maybe a CBR Black Bird there is no other bike I want in life. However I would like to know how to get the best fuel usage out of my 6th gen beauty. I am not well versed in mechanics but I learn pretty fast, so I am hoping there are a few master mechanics here that I can study under and learn from.

Best fuel usage? What are you asking, exactly?

Best type of fuel? Whatever is most affordable.

Best gas mileage? Keep it below VTEC threshold.

But, the VFR has comparably poor gas mileage compared to other bikes similarly sized. Especially in relation to HP output.

Just do us all a favor and search topics before asking common questions. Google is the better search engine to pull up forum threads.

Nobody knows zero, the vfr gets excellent gas milage as long as you shift before 6100rpm, try and keep the rpms in 5,000 to 6,000. Run the tires at least 33,36. run syn oil, best gas is maybe 87. I put in 87 then some 89 because I don't trust the gas too much. Kept some techron in the gas-just a little. Get rid of the stock exhaust it weighs too much-slip-on. I run the lightest 2 bos carbon single. Get a shoria bettery save close to 6 pds. I think the pipercross air filter will add a little mpg's too-testing that one out soon. Shift like this 1st gear hit 6,000 got to 2nd hit 6,000 go to third. New trick when stopping put the kick stand down to shut off the bike not the key. Only put in gas tank the amount of gas you need not to run out as the tank is Huge, this bike has a excellent gas gauge. Plan your trips a bit-one wrong turn also eats a lot of gas. You should get over 40mpg. I am getting 45mpg sometimes more or less, but I can't follow my economy rides any more because I like to ride fast:vtr2::evil:

    So true.

42-44 mpg's on avg for most 6th gens, 200 +/- miles per tank. You can stretch the range a little further if your conservative with the throttle.

If this is your 1st post we need pics, otherwise :worthless:
