    Hello all,

I am from Cumming, Ga. I had a Shadow 500 back in High School in the early '80s, traded for a V4 Sabre which I kept for 12 years, had a 15ish year hiatus then bought a 2014 CBR500R to get my feet back wet. Finally found a '08 VFR with 2800 miles and picked it up the day after I saw it. Sold the CBR ASAP!!

I have added the GIVI 55 trunk which I am now not sure how I ever lived without!

Since the bike still had the original tires I just put on a set of the PR4 Michelins, I am in the process of changing the rest of the fluids. Oil was first with Motul 5500, just got the clutch fluid changed 2 weeks ago. Next is the brake fluid and probably the cooling fluid.

    I love this bike! LOL

Bad pic of my dirty bike......

Nice looking bike. Obviously it needs to be ridden and enjoyed for years to come.

Amen MOFO. I believe this will be another 10+ year bike. I have always loved the Honda V4's.

Nice Find! I'm sure you'll have many good years ahead. The GIVI is a good choice too, I've had my GIVI for a few years now and it has made my commuting so much more enjoyable, no longer having to strap my 25# back pack is such a relief!

Good job on the tire change and fluid flush/fill too. As far as the brake bleeding, you may want to search the forum or internet on a "how-to", as the procedure is a little more involved than typical MC brakes.

Thanks OOTV. Yea the linked brakes are different. I take it to a local shop that seems to do pretty good work for a reasonable amount of $ so far. I may do some of my own work eventually but not now.

Nice bike there..time to make that bike your bitch..wait ..what?
Have a V47 and what a HUGE difference....not having to lug a freekin 35 lb back to work every day like OOTV mentioned.
Good riding and ATGATT...think about heli's..huge difference also..think I just was reading a post and a member said he just got a bike with helis and wants it back to original....maybe save some $$$$...or trade$?

Thanks Duccmann. Other than the cost of the Helis how well do they work when riding "spirited" ? I finally made it to the Dragon on my VFR. What an awesome stretch of road. I scrubbed down to !/4" chicken strips on my PR4's that day but I just could not coax it lower. Part of that was my own pansy ass since I am sure the bike is fully capable! I am also curious if the tires will stand up to that sort of "abuse"? After I finish with the fluids I am going to start with the suspension a bit. The front really dives during braking, of course I am 220 which doesn't help.

Well you no doubt you have longer arms then me I'm only 5'6 so the helis made a huge difference for me...no dif in the canyons just not so much pressure on the old back and wrist. Also have the PR4's and love them...no complaints.

Well I'm 5'11 and I do have issues with my hands which the bars might help with. I am also going to get Throttlemeister throttle locks and see if that helps as well first. I would really like to be able to release the throttle during long rides sometimes.

Glad to hear on the PR4's. I almost went with the PP3 instead just for the stickiness but read a lot about the mileage the PR's were giving. Not to mention there rain performance!
