    Hi,

After 12 years, it is great to be back on a VFR!!

From 1997 to 2001 I owned a 1992 VFR750. In 2001, I traded it in on a Honda ATV because in my spare time I was mainly in the woods fishing and hunting rather than riding the VFR.

Over the last 10 years I have put on a total of 65,000 miles of trail riding on 3 different Honda ATVs. Finally, this spring, the fever to get back into street riding hit me real hard. At age 55, I guess I am classified as one of those "older" riders :smug:

This week, I picked up a beautiful 1997 VFR750 in mint shape with only 18,000 miles on the bike. The bike came with a Kerker Exhaust, Corbin Seat and 3/4" Genmar handlebar risers. Over the past couple days, I have managed to put on a couple hundred miles and I am amazed !! I don't remember my 1992 VFR being anything like this one. I absolutely love it.

I road raced a Yamaha RZ350 in the 1980s in the RZ Cup. Most of my track time was at Atlantic Motorsports Park just outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Gilles Villeneuve holds the track record there while driving a Can Am car. I am also a former instructor of the Canada Safety Council Motorcyle Course.

My previous motorcycles have been a 1983 Honda Sabre V45, 1986 Yamaha FJ1200, 1987 Yamaha RZ350 and the 1992 Honda VFR750. I have had my motorcyle license for 35 years.

Thank you to everyone who keeps this forum going and the treasure of all the VFR information.

Welcome Wicker. But you gosta get with the rest of the world and post up pix of your ride ro you could be taken out back and flogged as an imposter.

I have an idea circulating around in my screwed up head that just might take me out your way in maybe spring of 2016. Haven't told the wife this one yet. I will wait until I get drunk so I won't remember the screaming.

Hey dude, welcome to the club!
65,000 miles on ATV's is a lot of miles off road IMHO. You must be a tough dude to log that many miles.

Congrats on the 97, if you are ever near Moncton, let me know so we can meet and shoot some bull. I used to teach the Canada Safety Council course back in 1990 so I'm and old bugger too.

Oh and let's get some pics of this machine posted.

    Hi Jethro911,

My current ATV is a 2008 Honda Rincon 680 and it has 43,000 kms (27,900 miles) on the odometer. It is still running strong.

Here's a pic of my (new to me) 1997 VFR 750:

I'm hurt..........BTW Long. Some of use here really do live in homes made of something other than hard packed snow. Mine for instance is a two roomed sod house.

After posting my introduction a week and a half ago, it turns out I couldn't keep my wife's hands off of the bike. She was riding it more than me.

This week, I found a 1990 Honda VFR750F in mint shape for her own.

We now have "His and Her's":

Congrats on the new purchase (s) and I hope you have a great time putting the miles on both bikes. To see your shining red 97 VFR takes me back to the one I used to have a number of years ago. the 97 still stands out as one of the nicest bikes I have ever owned. It was such a joy to ride, and the SOUND that was emitted from the exhaust was BY FAR the most alluring of all the VFR's as well.

Ohhhh, and I would be remiss if I didn't say how absolutely horrible the white 8 spoke looks on the 1990 VFR. If you like, I can send you the one off my bike in trade (in any color you like) and I will even offer to pay shipping.

A most warm welcome from another fellow Canuck from the Western region of our fair lands. Ride safe and don't forget to keep em shiny side up. LOL
