most 2002 and up or well over 500pounds and loaded with heavy junk. the stock exhaust the slip-on part alone weighs 28 pounds that not even with the headers maybe 50 pounds total. I think my TI exhaust on the the R6 was around 12 pounds total.

I have about 23k miles ridden in just under 3 years. She's been down once, I was packed up for a gentlemen's camping weekend and had stopped on rural road to take a picture of the Rustic Road number, so bike is loaded up and not being a tall rider, over the leg went, foot hit gravel when it came down and slipped out. The momentum of the bike continued and over we both went. Luckily she didn't pin me down so I got her back up before too much gas leaked out, would like to know where that came from, sat there for a minute angry with myself, then got on and apologized to her the rest of the ride to the cabin. So that's where my first downed bike experience came from.

We seem to be a buttery fingered or footed bunch here. So far 52 people have dropped their rides 214 times. We should all be working in a fine china shop. Stoops has joined our ranks as our 52nd clutz.

Interesting that most of our drops are not at SPEED! I find that heartening.

    Dropped my cruiser...
I picked up a 96 honda shadow 1100 for cruiser duty. Came home from my first ride...a 400 mile weekender and turning into my driveway I made a rookie mistake and tapped the rear brake. Bike slid out low side about 6'. Tires not the newest plus oily road didn't help. Not so much as a scuff on me or my gear. Broken turn signal, bent peg and a scuffed windscreen. In an instant I'm on my side going holy shit I just wrecked my bike!

Guess THAT is the downfall of linked brakes. You stop using the rears and then when you do, this happens!

I was wondering if manufactures ever think of falls and tip-overs when they wrap their designs in painted plastic?

Had 2 drops on my '94 back in 2009/2010. Both low side's while attempting to make a left hand turn. Just this morning, had my first on my '06. I was travelling down a 2 way street when some jackass pulled out from his stop sign, and then when he saw me, STOPPED, in my lane of traffic. Luckily, I was going slow enough that I was able to stop quickly, but due to the quickness of the stop, I wasn't prepared to put my feet down quick enough, so down on the left side she went, scraping up a couple of fairings, breaking the left mirror, and while I was trying to jump away from keeping my left foot from getting crushed, I kicked a dent in the gas tank. Dude looked at me, and then drove off. Lucky for me, I was quick at getting his plate #, and the cops got him. Now for the insurance fun. :grumpy: IMAG0244[1].jpg

No wonder you down with the top box dragging you down, bet you didn't even have anything in it, r+ G sliders would have saved any damage. Fast stops make it really hard not to tip over especially with a top box, abs would have help keep the bike from going over too, but won't if your over too far. I had three drops on my sliders-no damage at all except a tiny scratch in the puck that you can't see too well.
