Hello to all the Viffers ! I am in the market for a full exhaust system for my 08 VFR. Many of the posts I have read have stated how poorly made the Motad and Delkevic systems are. If anyone has any suggestions on other full systems that are high quality please share your knowledge as I want to put quality parts on my bike. Thanks for all the support.

What posts are saying how poorly the Delkevic exhaust is poorly made? I certainly haven't seen them. Rather to the opposite actually. Perhaps older systems, but I have read a lot of good about the current offerings here and other bike forums.

Lol that sums up my feelings exactly! Honestly I ran a motad header for a few years before I found a two brothers full system. The fit was terrible and the quality wasn't that great. The first one I received would not fit. The second one I received would only line up once I ground a lot of material down off of the center stand.

It sounded great, but made no noticeable power difference. The primaries were still tiny. Plus the 2-1 collectors have steel mesh lining the inside for sound control, definitely not helping performance.

But to answer your question, my two brothers full system fits my 07 fine. The mid pipe needed to be cut and welded to my slip on which was also cut, to get the angles right for undertail use. I suppose you could fab up a low mount bracket if you want to run the entire full system, but the 6th gen 2bros slip on is exactly the same diameter as the 2bros full system mid pipe, so it doesn't matter.

So basically the primaries are 36mm in the straights and 39mm in the curves (to maintain velocity) and then the secondaries are 41mm and the single pipe is 51 mm. This is all outer diameter and I forget the pipe thickness but it's pretty thin.

The order of the pipes is front left to back left, front right to back right, then 2 inches or so and they merge into a single pipe.

Candyred, did you ever try and see if someone would build one?

this is my daily driver so i dont have time for the bike to be down for days or weeks on end. plus i would rather let 2 bros do all the primary diameter and length engineering.

Thank you for the detailed information. So based on what you have written it sounds like a bit of fabrication is necessary to install the system on the VFR. So would you recommend two bros over Delkevic as far as quality wise? I have spoken to Delkevic and they state no welding is needed it's a clamp system. I am like you and don't have the time for the bike to be out of commission for a while. Any suggestions or input is greatly appreciated.

No fabrication is needed if you have a 3rd, 4th or 5th generation Vfr. The only reason I did any fabrication is because I have a sixth gen and Two Brothers never made a 6th gen full system. The fifth gen system will bolt up but a new muffler hanger will need to be made. None of this really matters though, since these full systems are nearly impossible to find. But if you do find one they are hands down better than the delkavics in every way. The delkavics are not a performance system. The two brothers systems actually make power and the quality is much much better.

So it sounds like I missed my boat as far as mods are concerned. Any suggestions on how I might get a quality exhaust system that will generate power ? I live in CA and it seems like with all of the emissions regulations my options are very limited with this upgrade.

I have to say I think bikers in the UK would be amazed to hear Motad and Delkevic spoken of in the same breath. Over here Motad stainless systems have a fantastic reputation for quality, fit and longevity which I can personally testify to as I bought one for my 5th gen. Delkevic, with some exceptions, do not. Ian MacDonald from Motad UK is a member of the UK VFR Forum and always available to sort out any issues, I'm sure he'd be glad to have a chance to join in - ianmcdonald@motad.co.uk - though I think he'd be the first to say their products are OE replacements, not performance systems.

Whelp sorry to tell you, the first one didn't fit, and the second one didn't fit either until I ground down the cent stand. But the two brothers headers lined right up and made power too!

I don't see why motad refuses to make an actual performance header. They'd make a lot more money If they didy.
