    Got some patching done to the front and rear cowls. They turned out nice and solid. Still need to sand and finish them, but they are coming along nicely. Before and after pictures to follow:

    ***edit*** the pictures didn't upload correctly. I'll reupload in a bit.

    The plastic weld dries a milky translucent color, but extremely durable and will withstand 4400 lbs of pressure. I'll post more pictures once it is cleaned up a bit.

    This weekends project was new fork seals! I didnt take pictures if the process, but I can say that they were seriously effed up.

    Left fork oil looked like lumpy coffee and cream. Lots of cream. Guessing water got in somehow. This fork had about 5 ounces of oil/water in it.

    Right fork was "serviced" at some point as it had some damage to the aluminum bottom on the damper where the drain bolt goes in. I ground the burrs off to clean it up. In addition, this fork only had about an ounce of oil in it.

    Both springs were kinda rusty. Cleaned both with scotch brute and reassembled with 10w fork oil.

    Even with no air in the forks, the bike rides awesome now!

    Took it for a visit to its rightful owner after completing it:

    Awesome job so far! Sorry to read about your brother, but you are memorializing him in a great way by restoring his dream bike. I'm sure he'd be thrilled to see it on the road.

    My heart dropped when I read your Brother passed...so sorry bud. That is the exact street bike that started it all for me back in 83...good job ...I bet you talk with Dave every ride right?
    I second the suggestion about the plaque on the gas tank.

    Thanks Duccmann. It's a work in progress. I have a few things to figure out and have been scouring the forum looking for answers. Once I have the kinks worked out, it will be painted and cleaned up more. For now though, I am just happy to ride it. And yes... I talk to him on EVERY ride.

    Had some spare idle adjustment screw parts from my carb replacement and made one that I'll be able to get to on the fly without burning the shit out of my hand.

    Did some minor cosmetic work on the bike over the weekend. Cleaned up the badly weathered chain guard and painted it with ABS bumper paint, stripped the kickstand and painted with gloss black ceramic paint, cleaned, oiled and adjusted tension on chain and started cleaning crud from center stand. As an added bonus, some stickers that I ordered came in and there were extras in the package. It should only have had two of the large HRC stickers but ended up with what is pictured. I included the amazon page screenshot as well.

    Excuse the cruddiness of the bike. I got stuck riding in the rain for 35 miles today.
