I have acquired a 86 interceptor 500. However, it came without keys. A new ignition is on the way but how do I open the gas cap and what can I replace it with o 've I get it opened? Thanx, Mike

The original key code can be found secreted under the OEM ignition switch after you remove the top triple clamp. Something like B75 or D56 are typical #s, and that key should work on the filler cap too. Your local Honda 'cycle dealer will cut you a key from the # you supply.

Squirrel is right on the money, all the locks on your bike have the key code and I think the one on the helmet lock is the easiest to get at. The code will start with an A,B,C or D and then the two digits. You may have to ask around from dealers to lock smiths but you should be able to find a professional to cut you a key.

Check with a lock smith, a half ass lock smith will have a Curtis key cutter.

The locksmith may require you show ownership documents on the bike before any work is done.
