VFR in the 1/8th, but I thing the 'stang will take the 1/4.

+1 My prediction as well. Driver skills being a factor. Let us know what happens!

For the heck of it I did a brief search and found that a 600HP 2014 Shelby Mustang clocked a 12.1 second quarter in a Car and Driver road test. So, it will probably be close, but I'll lean towards the VFR if ridden very well by a light rider.

Just tried out this quarter-mile calculator...
    http://measurespeed.com/quarter-mile-calculator.php

Assuming 3700lbs. (3500lbs. car + 200lbs. driver) with 708rwhp for the Mustang, the ET is 10.1s@135mph.

Assuming 650lbs. (525lbs. motorcycle + 125lbs. rider) with 95rwhp for the VFR, the ET is 11.1@123mph.

Of course, this will all depend on the skill of the driver and rider, but the power-to-weight ratio of the Mustang is hard to beat in the hands of a skilled driver.

If he doesn't win, it'll probably be his own fault. It's hard to get a 300 h.p. car to hook up. Will be close, hopefully!

All about how well the mustang hooks up, IMO. Is he using slicks, or the tires shown in the picture? Is the VFR stock, or anything that might really make a difference in the QM?

Tough call, but I think if the Moosestang can hook, he'll eek out the win.

Since the launch and traction management are so critical as to who wins, I hope you can talk them into doing a 2 out of 3 series. I just noticed that you mentioned that the Mustang can't hook up in first gear. I still think it will be close, but if I were actually betting I'd bet on the VFR. If the Mustang had the tires to really hook up it would definitely win, but it looks like it doesn't.

Ok heres the deal with my friends bike . 1999 VFR 800 Slip on exhaust , PC3 Dyno 109.84hp to the wheel . My friend is 125lbs . he has ran the bike before
11:00s @ 127mph 60' 1.780 . The mustang is what you see . cant hook in 1st . boy in the mustang has never ran it at the track . Yes I think if the mustang would hook then he would take it , however one little mistake by the mustang it's over ! and yes its best 2 out of 3 . I would put money on the VFR . My friend on the VFR is 50 years old and has been on bikes for over 30 years . The boy in the mustang is in his 20's . Now If I drove the mustang it maybe a different story being I have raced for over 20 years being my last mustang was a 1991 Mustang that ran 10:30s . But he needs to run his car . At the end of the day it will be a good race !
    GO VFR !!!

Lots of psyche in any race. The kid in the Mustang may come up with a driver that can hook up in first. Is first manual or an auto shifter? Seems like that is a lot of rear wheel HP out of a stock 800 and we ain't seen any timing slips or heard from proven fast guy Candy Red..

So many variables. Driver/rider, elevation, temperature, track condition, etc... Drivers being equal, I would guess the stang should take it on the big end.

My money says the dude in the Shelby can't drive well enough to break 11's. In my own experience, every amateur 1/4 miler with a strong build always has delusions of grandeur and sub 12 times up in lights with a cheering crowd. I hope he brings an extra set of rear tires! No one ever thinks of the practice it takes to get that good consistently. Now, with some real tires and a proven driver the 'Stang takes it every time. Post that video after the smoke clears.
