I picked up a ZX14 for a measly 4500 and it exactly what I always thought it would be so I am swapping to it as a daily rider. Decided to sell the VFR so I shall bid you all adieu as soon as it is gone :)

    A parting picture:

Besides the extra power, what do you like about it vs. the VFR? I've always liked those.

My biggest complaint has always been turn in and front end feel on the VFR, the ZX14 is a sizable improvement in those areas. I can still strap my soft bag to the baack and do light touring too, get a set of soft saddlebags and it would be directly comparable only the ZX gets better MPG. Basically it's a very sporty tourer which is where I want to be in the bike classifications.

Doing 30mph in 6th gear and getting 60mpg while being completely smooth is nice too, VFR can't do that.

Overall I would just say it is a more complete package for what I do on a motorcycle.

Congrats on the new bike, I always liked the ZX-14. I was thinking about going that route for my next bike but will probably go the Concours route just for insurance reasons.

Unless I am on a twisty road where I know no cop will be I am just barely over the speed limit. I don't need to go fast to enjoy riding a motorcycle

The smoothness at any speed in any gear is what sold me on the ZX14

Going the speed limit on a fast motorcycle never lasts too long, if I were you I would upgrade the brakes with special pads and SS lines, and check on the rotors too. I met a ZX11 rider who had piss in the brake fluid and no back brake.:puke::joker::target::spider:

It is terrible on stock suspension and factory settings but easily fixed.

    Just sayin for the record

    Congrats on your ride!

Did all that the day I bought it!

My speedy speed days are behind me. Unless I am on a track I don't push it hard and going fast in a straight line holds about as much appeal to me as driving a car does.

I know my complaints with the VFR are solvable with a little bit of money but I could just use that same money on getting a bike that suits me better from the factory and let another rider who will truly enjoy the VFR have it.
