Newer member to the forum here and I'm sure my question has been beaten to death and I apologize in advance. I've researched windscreens for my 6th generation VFR to no end and I have narrowed it down to the Zero Gravity DB or the touring screen. I've even read I think every post on the forum regarding this topic but I still can't decide before I hit the "Buy" button. I've had DB's on my old bikes and they were fine but I guess I'm asking why not a touring windscreen?? I 6'1 and I think it would fit me well for highway riding. Any downfalls on the higher windscreen?

I'm 6'1" and had a double bubble zero gravity screen that came with the bike.

I had a tip over in my driveway and the screen bit it.

I rode without it and couldn't believe how much better it was. The head buffeting was gone and just a nice even wall of air across my chest.

I got an eBay screen and it brought the air up higher but still upper chest/shoulder. No helmet buffeting. I have stopped looking for anything else even though I do tour a bit.

Helmet is an arai that fits super well so it's not a helmet issue.

Oh and the bike felt lightest with no screen, heaviest/hardest to turn with the Db.

Try popping yours off and see what you think just so you can feel what the oem screen does.

I have both-the touring model is taller and I want all the wind protection I can get, but I don't like the thick heavy ones and I choice clear-you can see though it in poring rain. Any reason to choose one over the other?? I may be going on a long ride from Pa to Sc and just trying to be as prepared as possible. Thanks.

I just replaced the OEM windscreen on my '04 with a Puig Racing windscreen in light smoke and it is fantastic. Much smoother airflow and at 6'1" it hits me just right. Looks great too. Much nicer than ZG DB IMHO.

Just an update, I bought both screens to test out because I couldn't decide. I've had the DB before on other bikes so I was kinds used to that. I was hoping to like the ST screen but it left me kinda baffled. It seemed to eliminate some of the chest wind but it created a weird updraft past my chin and into my helmet. I think maybe it was dirty air. The ride seemed a bit rougher too but who knows. To compare both of them is hard because honestly I didn't notice that much of a difference to say one is that much better than the next. I'm keeping the DB because it may look just a slight bit better. If anyone wants to buy a sport touring Zero Gravity Windscreen let me know. Used once and in perfect condition. Paid $90 for it, make me an offer. Thanks.

My ZG touring seemed to be a bit better than the DB but the DB does look better and keeps a lot of wind off too-I think the ZG touring is a little better because it blocks more wind-its also a light wind screen and doesn't add a lot of weight-I can also see though the clear screen-big advantage in a rain storm:rain:

Sonofwolf, Maybe I misread your post but is this the "she male" for Bad Billy?

I always gone with the DB screens since my first attempt to use a Touring screen. I think since I"m only 5 10, the DB seems to direct the wind just right for most of my bikes. I'm guessing the ST screens may work better for taller riders over the DB. incidentally, wasn't the DB originally for racers to tuck under?

she male too good looking for Bad Billy, the DB suppose to make the bike as slippery as possible though the air, but a touring screen is made for slower speeds and block more wind. ZG touring does block more wind, I think it does a fair job. Not perfect, it could be shaped a bit better, but I doubt any wind screen is perfect for touring-each one try's something different

I think long has a windscreen that has a wing thingy on it that the angle can be adjusted to suit. I don't find them especially attractive but they might be effective. Long needs to chimp in here.

I have Vario Touring screen with an adjustable lip. It's a nice looking and works better than stock but there is still some turbulance at higher speeds.
