I found a nice tank bag that converts very nicely into a backpack, AND, will hold your helmet too!
I love that I can take it with me as a backpack since I carry alot of personal belongings in my tank bag - wallet, EZpass tag, house keys, ect...
I also have the option to wear it as a backpack while riding too. It's pretty aerodynamic.
The tank bag fits very nicely on my 2006 VFR.
    I am pleased.

Check it out - less than $100 too!

I am a tank bag user since my BMW days (way back when) but I never had occasion where I needed to wear mine like a backpack. Now if it is considerably bigger than my current bag and will take a lap top I could see hauling it around.

The bag is big/deep enough to swallow a 3" binder with no problem!
You have to be careful putting a laptop in it though - with the magnetics in the tank bag portion! I would keep them folded outwards as to not interfere with the electronics.

Oh. . .the magnets! I forgot about that. It could play hell with the electronics. I am looking for something big enough to swallow my business papers and notes so I can ride my bike to client calls.

I wonder how a bunch of magnets will affect my little Plasma TV when I'm trying to watch my Oprah re-runs.

If you have a book between the laptop and the bottom of the bag, you will be fine.

the helmet carry feature gets the job done nicely.
I like it better than some of the other helmet backs because it puts the helmet at the bottom of the bag down near your butt instead of on your back, making you super wide and bumping into things.
It's alittle confusing to figure out the first time as the instructions are not super clear, but once you do - its very easy.
I googled up a video on the pack, and that helped alot.
