I have a 86 VFR700. It was recently traded for a dirtbike in non running condition. Turns out the guy shafted me with the trade and I'm having a lot of issues which I can't figure out. Firstly, with the key in the ignition turned to 'on' and battery charged I will not have any power to anything whatsoever. The R/R looks new, all the connections are good, but still no power to anything with the key on. Any help would be great - I checked the main fuse (I assume the 30A one next to the battery) and it is good, changed that starter relay also - still no luck.
    Thanks in advance! John.

Check the four pin connector at the starter relay, often it will be damaged due to heat related to a poor connection.

I've had a look at some of the wiring and it looks a bit hack. Is there normally a switch that comes off one of the wires from the starter relay pin connections? On mine there is a switch which goes into two red wires with a white strip - I'll upload a picture soon, but it doesn't look 'normal'. Thanks
