On my 1984 vf700 when the speedo cable is connected every time I go above 5mphther is a very high pitch squeal that comes from the cluster. Does that mean I need a new cable or cluster or what??? I'm lost trying to figure it out.... does anyone have some tips or any idea how to resolve this. Thank you.

Sounds like something needs lubrication. You can try lubricating the cable. But if something inside the cluster is sticking, you might have to take the cluster apart to lubricate whatever is making the noise.

No squeal when cable isn't connected to spedo ??

Lube the cable but keep lube away from the top 1"
