While im not huge fan of red, i cant help but think the fastest color is red...look at all the Ferraris and Ducatis. Somehow i always get stuck with a red viffer haha.

the only thing red has going for it is traffic tickets. The color that gets the least tickets is of course Stealth Black with radar coating. :pirate:

Negative! Ive had 3 red viffers and zero tickets, ive had a "stealth" black 2008 Suzuki GSXR750, i got popped 3 times and its so far has been the ONLY bike ive gotten tickets on, and were talking about a guy who has logged over 80k+ miles between 8-9 bikes.

Could be the bike not the color, 750 Suzuki is one speed demon. A vfr is no where near as fast.-or doesn't look like a kids bike.

My old r6 Yamaha-traded-blue color and My VFR 800 -Black were both bought from cops, so figure that one out. The VFR came from badlands Chicago. Just from the way Red hits your eye faster than Black. I would say for sure it makes a big difference in being noticed. If you got a lot of tickets with a Black Suzuki, you were going really fast and nothing saves you from a ticket except more speed.:tsk::stickhorse:

Believe it or not all 3 times were at night where black is basically invisible and they were bullshit tickets like 10mph speed limit. (75 in a 65 zone) I have yet to be caught doing my once in a while wangan 150mph runs ;)

Also let's just say I verified the zx14 indeed has a 186mph governer lol. (It read 190 but I'm sure its small speedo error.

Speaking of kids, this kid at work has a late model CBR600RR and he heard I picked up a bike. He took a quick look at it and said to me, "oh I thought you said you got a sport bike , this is a old mans bike" (auto assumed cause he saw handle bars aren't below you knees) I replied back hey, $100 says this "old man" will kick your CBR to the curb down Angeles Crest mountains....he never replied. After seeing his 2" wide sun dried chicken strips on his tires I know he doesn't really "ride".

While I've owned a number of automobiles in silver, I can't help but think damn the silver viffer is like the blandest color they make. Every time I see them I'm like wow...that color is pretty lifeless, it's just seems on the motorcycles in particular just looks boring and bland. I'm a big fan of metallic blacks and pearl white (very few bikes come pearl white)

Yes, they help. Contrary to popular belief cops aren't stupid. I work for a local utility & we routinely have cops on our job sites. Many of which are motorcyclists. They know the difference between a squid & responsible rider on a sport bike. Quality helmet, full gear, saddlebags it all sends a different message than a t-shirt & shorts.

That being said if your doing something stupid you'll still get popped for ticket. But if your in that "gray area", maybe going a little fast. They're more likely to let a mature rider go as opposed to a squid.
