    Good afternoon,

I am looking for mirror extenders for a 1986 VFR 700. I just can't see what is directly behind me with the stock mirrors. Any suggestions are appreciated that would help me.

    Thanks a lot,

    Dirk

You may just want to look into new mirrors with the screw mount the Hondas use.
Someone had a thread where they used some gixxer mirrors if I remember right.
Maybe toecutter or someone else did that mod, the stock mirrors on the 86/87 suck bad.

I've got some old school Napoleon brand mirrors on mine. I'll post up a photo later.

    Vote 1 for bar ends.

Due to the mounting system for those years (post), extending the mirrors is quite difficult.

    Good luck,

    Larry

Thanks a lot guys. I am not really into bar end mirrors as they take away from the stock-look of the bike. I will remove the mirrors over the weekend, take some measurement and see if I can find a replacement that somewhat resembles the original mirrors.

I found some cheapy GP mirrors at Cycle Gear that screwed in the post hole and actually let you see a little behind you.

I am going to make a run to the local Cycle Gear store this morning. It is a beautiful, sunny Friday off in southern California. Can't beat that

I use CRG Lane Splitters bar end mirrors on my CBX and have thought about them for my little VFR700F but, I really don't have too much of a problem seeing out of the stock mirrors.

I think the mirror post itself is on an eccentric that can be turn to move the mirror in and oot slightly. I have a couple of gen two white mirrors and one black one if anyone is interested. Fair condition I think. Been cleaning oot my gen two stash.
