Hello VFR world. I have searched high and low for a decent exhaust for my newly acquired 08 VFR 800.

I originally had my eye on the Two Bro's black series but I learned that one of the cans is not active.

I then had my sites set on the FMF Apex slip on . No one has this in stock. FMF claims they are focusing more on off road being that the CA emissions is impacting their business.

Plus many places I call state they won't ship to California due to emissions. Does any one have a work around ? Or suggestions on an exhaust with a deep tone but will not be overbearing as I cruise. (I am a fan of the Titanium finish)

Your input and feedback is greatly appreciated. Please include site where I can purchase your recommendation that has it in stock. Thanks again.

Lot of people are putting the Leo's on. I think I got my FMF from Riders Discount.

Fan of my Delkevic's honestly. They are loud, so you'd want to run with the baffles in, but they're just Stainless or Carbon Fiber. (Cheap as dirt, too. Compared to Leo's and 1 Bros er 2 Bros 1 pipe.)

Here's a clip of the Delkevic (keeping in mind I have the headers as well, so my system is a bit bassier.)

...and here's my old 2 Bros VALE slip on. (The STASH slip on lets you put things inside of the dummy pipe.)

I advocate gutting the stock cans, but I like that look.

Thanks for your input everyone. I have the bug for mods. It's just been a bit frustrating trying to find an exhaust with the look and performance I desire. I will keep searching. Please feel free to share any info you feel will be useful.

Man I hear you! I just got my '07 a couple of weeks ago and it really needs an aftermarket exhaust. Not just for sound, but for weight savings. I am finding the engine performance pretty anemic compared to the 5th gen. I would love to have a BOS exhaust, but you just can find them. FMF Apex would be the next choice, but damn! Price is through the roof. As for the Two Bros, I believe it is only "The Stash" that is a dummy can, but I could be wrong.

Sorry brother, wrong on this one, my dummy can is not a stash, just there for the aesthetics. Two Bros does claim a small torque increase with this set up, I personally like the sound of mine but I don't consider it a low mellow tone. My analogy would be a small block with a stainless exhaust (higher pitch) verses mild steel(more rumblie) in any case apagan34, I wouldn't expect a noticeable increase in performance from an exhaust system (but the sound alone is worth it to me)
    John

I have the 2 bros carbon and its a kick ass muffler. I am using only one can and it takes off close to 20pounds off the bike high up. The second muffler is useable and you can switch them back and forth which means when the one muffler starts wearing out-just which to the spare can, that is getting two muffler for the price of one. I believe it adds some torque and HP because the stock system twists around and weighs 20 pounds more. It now makes a very nice sound, a little noisy at low speed, but it works great. Best advice is see if you can get a second hand setup-I would never pay a :vtr2::typing::eyebrows: for it.

I think Hard Racing currently has the Leo Vince Evo slip ons for $540 which is a good deal.

Leo vince stopped making for the 6th gen VFR. So, they are hard to find in stock and when ordered, they just don't come in. You can look at GPR. They have at least three offerings for the VFR.
    They are Italian made.

I bought an exhaust that was used, but very nice, by Scorpion on Ebay. I have the stainless steel model and both cans are active. I definitely saved some weight and the tone has a deeper rumble to it (it's not overly loud). I would guess that I gained a few horsepower and torque. The only downside to my exhaust is that I cannot put the OEM saddlebags on because the cans do not bend in like the stock unit. Oh, putting on the exhaust was very straight-forward and pretty simple. I've seen new Scorpion exhausts go around $800, so getting a used set in good condition would save you a lot of money if you opt to go with it. Have fun looking around and something will come up for you. Do some research and watch some videos on youtube to compare both the look and sound.

I don't know how they do it, but they have great prices on tires, windshields, mirrors etc. Really good prices. Even gear and helmets.

Thanks to all who posted. I now have a few options to upgrade this beast. I am looking forward to making call based on your recommendations. Is any body here using Power Commander III or V ? Also is the install a job a first timer can tackle with the help of a Haynes manual or should I pay a shop to install it. How much should I expect to pay a shop to install a full exhaust system ? Thanks again for all the input.
