So I've posted a few times before, but just felt like checking in. I've got most of her issues sorted out by now, still need to pull the carbs to get her to idle without choke and spend a bunch of money on brake components, but I'm having too much fun with her to put her down for a day or two...

This is my first 'proper' bike. I've ridden a fair share in my time and had some fun, but wouldn't admit to it on the record... Realistically, I can't see wanting anything else. It's hard enough as it is to follow the speed limit, and it mostly feels like riding a bicycle around. I mean, it'd be cool to reach irresponsible speed in 1.5 seconds rather than 2.5, but....

Today I went out for my first proper ride. About 350km (a little over 200 miles, I suppose). I made sure to hit Centennial Lake Road, widely considered to be one of the best roads in Ontario, and it didn't disappoint. I guess my only issue was when I realized that I was averaging double the speed limit...

It was pretty cold today, and I was dodging rain clouds the entire trip, so I didn't bother stopping to take any photos. But I leave you with a photo of Vanessa after her maiden voyage the other day...

cool looking bike. The exhaust cans are in good shape.
I'm hoping to get on mine today. I finally got 'er running after spending six months ignoring her. The carbs were jacked up and took three tries to get them working.

Been Trying to finish the paint on mine but in the middle of building a 1000rwhp Mustang for a customer and can't spray in the shop till it's out....... Nice to see all these 500's getting finished and put back on the road. Yeah yeah they had a few problems but they sure are fun little bikes and for something that's 28-30 years old that still runs you can't complain to much.

Hehe, the cans look like they're in good shape, but there's actually a massive hole on the bottom of the left can just where you can't see it. She's pretty clean for a 30 year old bike though. I spent six months ignoring her in the garage, but my excuse was the massive amounts of snow that were outside... :D

MPH, the obvious answer is to spray outside the shop!

Reminds me of 1988 when it either rained or snowed all summer. Mon-Fri from early AM to around 4 pm it was nice and sunny then around 4:30 it would stat to rain. Friday it would start to rain around 2:30-3:00 then rain till 9:00-10:00 PM Sunday. Even had a few weekends where it snowed in Aug.

    Damn 10-15C that's t-shirt,shorts and flip-flop riding gear weather................
