Based on your instructor's opinion I guess he rides a scooter...............men like that need to feel the wind in their vagina.

Conspiracy theory: He was trying a Jedi Mind Trick to get you to sell your bike to him.

Last time I took an MSF course one of the instructors was on a 5th gen.

Don't worry about it, he's just being a snob because the VFR is competent in doing everything very well, rarely breaks down, doesn't drop oil everywhere like an old incontenent dog " he thinks it's souless ". The only thing that matters is you enjoy rding it like I have my VFR the last 10 years.

Mind ia mate recently traded his K1300S for a S1000rr HP4 because the "K"'s linear Power curve lacked "Zing" so just didn't do it for him, fair enough but I honestly preferred riding his "K" to his "RR" finding the Ks roll on torque epic especiially in the ease it'd dispatch long lines of cars on back country roads reaching silly speeds effortlessly rather than explosively, then again perhaps I'm a snob like your instructor because I'd still rather ride my VFR800 over anything else currently on the market because I find its "character" best suits me and my preferred kind of riding. :smug:

Years ago I went into a "beemer" dealership for a test ride, one of the mechanics came oot and we had some brief words, he asked me, "if I was bored with my viffer." They never gave me a test ride those bastages, (true-story) I guess ripped jeans and a wife beater t-shirt was not the way to approach it. Hell, I walked into a jewelry store and bought a Breitling wearing that same garb and no-body looked twice. :flip:

"Soulless..." what a moron. He was just trying to put you down somehow. Ask the people who've put 100k+ on their VFRs how bored they are with their "soulless" motorcycles.

Well, MC said this, "if you have a pulse, these four gear driven cams pushing 16 valves at 10,500 RPM will quicken it". I'd agree.

It's entirely possible that he has the VFR confused with something he read once about the FJR.

Personally having rode both version of viffers, i think the 5th Gen has more soul then the 6th. I actual like the instrument cluster and seating better on the 5th then the 6th (which the tank feels wider for some reason). It just was too damn hard to find a minty 5th gen for a reasonable price. I will look for another 5th gen to keep along my 6th gen as i do like certain aspects of both.
