I think what KJ says makes sense, but I wouldn't do it to my 5th gen. I am happy with the power I have on tap.

Now my 1987 M6 ..... I keep eyeballing a 50 HP dry shot kit for her. That would push me well over the 300HP line. She runs rich anyway, so squirting would put me in a good place and my ECU can compensate just fine for a 50 shot. Could probably handle a 75 dry shot just fine, as other have turbo'd my engine model on stock internals. I wouldn't need it driving in the canyons, but it sure would be fun to know it's on tap.

50hp shot on a car you will not feel it too much . I'm telling you this for the fact on my 1992 mustang 5.0 I hooked up a NOS kit and I started with a 50hp shot and I could feel it a little bit but when I went to the 75hp and 125hp shot I could . But I can tell you now a stock mustang 5.0 can handle a 125 shot with no problem only reason you don't want to do more is the stock head bolts stretch and you will blow a head gasket but if you pu screw in studs in place of the stock head bolts then the stock motor will take a 175hp stock all day . But on your M6 would easy take a 75 shot and anything under a 100hp shot with 92 octane + no need to retard timing . I have had 4 mustangs last being a 1991 347 stroker all fuel injection GT40 upper and lower intake and a lot more . race car . but anyway 250hp shot of NOS ran 10:20's 1/4 mile . But when it comes to cars I have a lot of experience with NOS . I even did a 50hp shot on my 2005 dodge SRT4 turbo no problems stock it was a 300hp 2.4 . But if put on right you will have a lot of fun with your
M6 . but like what your saying about your M6 is how I feel about my VFR it would be nice to have alittle on tap 10hp or 15 hp

Mofo dropped a good one. Got a buddy from Kentucky and he says that is "famous last redneck words".

My M6 has a lower comp. ratio than the Euro model (9.8:1), but uses the same, high strength head bolts as the Euro. I'm tellin ya. It sure is tempting to just poke a dry shot nozzle behind the AFM and let er' rip. The BMW purists would probably tar and feather me, though.

I'd say go for it posting photos of the install and your review of its effect. Probably goes without saying but guess you'd want to engage above the 7k VTec engagement under WOT.

One way of looking at this is if the 400 peso install blows the engine. ya still have a great way to make whipped cream with a bigass smile on your face.

    @kj4eoz,

I've done what you're asking about. My reason was to add a 'passing gear' to the VFR, and for less $ than other routes (turbo, superchrg, etc), just as you seem to want to do. I started with a 15hp jet and an RPM/trigger controller unit (all from Dyno/Dyna... something or other, I don't have details here at work ). Piped the gas to the airbox on both sides to cross the IAT sensor (I think that's the right sensor designation) so the drop in temp. would richen the mix (theoretically). I didn't get much 'testing' in with this jet but what little I did felt like the V-TEC kicking in again when the shot occured. I then moved to a 25hp jet, removed the RPM/trigger controller b/c I had problems getting a consistent shot trigger, and set up a switch to use the horn button for manual activation. I only tried activating the NOS twice in this configuration as both times the engine started to cut out after an initial surge of acceleration. I became very concerned that the larger shot across the IAT was not giving enough fuel richening compensation, thus causing a lean burn & the possibility of bad things happening. I like my big gal & don't want to hurt her :boobies3: . At the present time, the system is removed as the gas relay also quit working. I have some old pix at home of all the mounting/piping and can post if you're interested . I have a PC3 on my girl to smooth V-TEC but I really want an ignition controller if I decide to ressurect this project, and there don't seem to be any for the VFR (PCV doesn't have one that I'm aware of).

I wonder if a bypass could be made up to make whipped cream that could be shot on tailgaters?

Well, pick up a purge valve for the system, route the output to an overflow canister hanging off the tail section & filled with whipped cream, fix an output nozzle to the cansiter, and viola ... a whipped cream spray device ... :eyebrows: ...

I called and went to order the NOS But The place told me before I order make sure the stock injectors will handle it . If they run at 100% duty cycle from Honda it will not work . But if they run at 80% or less then it will work with the PCV . So now I have to look into that . Don't even know who to ask . I called my Honda dealer today and that was a big waste of time .

NOS is the most expensive power adder you can get. Yes the set up is $400 but by the time you refill the bottles X amount of times it would have been cheaper to go with a turbo or S/C. The way I look at it is OK you have NOS on something so your car/bike/truck is only really a 13 sec 1/4 miler as the only time you run faster is when the bottle in hooked up and on unlike a Turbo or S/C that are always on.Hence cheating as its not constant power. Next problem is it's illegal to run NOS on the street in most states and province's. I've been building 10-12 sec street cars for for almost 30 years and will never go back to using NOS.

Again it's your bike you do what you like with it, I'm just passing on my thoughts.

I'm not looking to race the bike it's just to play with . Here where I live as long as a have some kind of emblem show that it is on the bike / car it's fine to have it on the street . I'm not putting out $5,000 for a SC for a $6,000 bike . I don't want it all the time just here and there . But what I'm looking for with this thread is technical help , like with the rate of the injectors and so on . I have been racing NOS cars for over 16 or 17 years and most being in the low 10's . I even had a turbo car with NOS . 2005 Dodge SRT4 running 11:90s Had stage 3 turbo with a 75 shot of NOS but Like I said I'm just looking for a little 10-20hp shot . SC would be over kill for that . Also I'm a welder been with the same place for 16 years so getting my bottles filled is next to nothing our gas supplier takes very good care of me . A SC is the last thing I would run on anything . In my book a turbo is more free HP then anything else . SC takes power to make power . Turbos don't have lag like they use to . But thanks for your in put .

The super charger runs a modified fuel regulator with high pressure fuel pump, I think you have plenty to spare if you only need a 20% window. Possibly a call to Dan at A & A could help with parts and info.

Nitrous for VFR800: Honda VFR800 Nitrous EFI System--Single Bottle

Check out the customer pics. There's a street fighter 4th gen & a VFR1200. Also one sick looking CBX w/ 5th or 6th gen swing arm & Ducati tailpiece.

    Sorry a little off topic.

Are you saying I should be good with stock fuel pump and injectors and regulator ?
What they told me was .. If honda set it up where the fuel system is max potential with the bike stock then I can't run it . But with the PC5 if I can get additional 20 % fuel then im good and that would carry me up to a 50 shot . but like I mentioned before I'm only looking for up to a 10- 20hp shot at the very most .

Your injectors run about 70% at 14000rpm on a stock 6th gen ( oscilloscope tested and used a pwm duty cycle meter). The problem you will reach is that the fuel pressure is to low. On a 6th gen the fuel pump is good for a 50 shot when measuring flow, but as you increase the fuel pressure the flow drops off fast. Also the fuel rails on the 6th gen are three separate pieces, the o-rings will leak a little over 65psi.

Now to be clear, I have no problems with NOS. But it is a limited use. And 6k for a turbo setup? Im doing a turbo build for under 3k canuck buck. It wont be ready for reg's R3. One problem you will find is that the oem ecu does not keep up to the extremely fast changes that happen when using NOS. Also consider the pair system. This adds air to the exhast during hard acceleration causing the ecu to make a more than rich mixture. In my opinion, if your going to spend the money to make 10 to 20hp more, get a programmable ecu from aem or haltech and give it some real love. Then add NOS for the squid factor.
