    Hello everyone,

Just thought I would introduce myself, as I have just bought my 2nd VFR 750 after a break from biking for 14 years. My first VFR 750 was a Generation 3, which I had from 1997 to 2000, and I had to sell that to finance a car I needed for my job at the time (I only passed my car test in 2000, bikes were always my primary mode of transport) - selling that bike was always a decision I bitterly regretted.

So here we are now, I turned 50 last year, and thought "I gotta get another bike". I've been humming and hawing about what bike to get for months, and then I thought one day "why don't I see if I can pick up a clean, 2nd hand VFR 750, just like I had...I will be used to it". It's funny how fate works - two weeks later this one popped up for sale, only 12 miles away from me, a very clean Generation 4, with only 11,800 miles on the clock.

The guy I bought it from was the 2nd owner, and he has owned it for 11 years....total mileage in that time?...2800 miles! So its been in his garage all the time, never ridden in the rain, and just been a weekend toy really. I thought it was a snip at £1700, fully MOT'd and taxed, plus he threw in loads of extra such as a top box, panniers, tank cover, battery optimiser, disk lock etc.

The only bummer is I damaged some ligaments in my knee 6 weeks ago, so until yesterday I had not ridden it at all - yesterday I drove it up and down the driveway a few times, as my wife and I were clearing out the garage (guess what for!) - I've been shit scared I will go out on it, and my knee will give way as I'm supporting the bike at a busy junction of lights, and I'll fall flat on my arse/damage the bike...not a great return after 14 years :grumpy:

Anyway, knee is a lot better today, and I've just been out and bought new armoured jacket, trousers, new boots, and a nice new Shoei GT Air helmet - hopefully I might get out for my first proper spin tomorrow or Monday, as its the Easter break this weekend.

Looking forward to chatting with members here, and reporting back on my travels!

    Here's some photos:

    All the best,

    Andy
